Looking over Rattenberg, a photo from Tyrol, West

Photographer's Note

This is a view from the ruined castle of Rattenberg (part of the old wall can be seen at the bottom right) looking northeast along the Inn Valley to the rugged Kaisergebirge mountains in the distance. Rattenberg has two ruined castles, and this is the lower one. The upper one is quite close, but further uphill. The lower castle is nevertheless high enough to provide great views over the picturesque countryside.

Hello Vincent,
This is a well taken postcard view with many attractive details. I like the mixture of older features and newer ones, such things that make a town lively and interesting, and the view across the fields up to the hills almost covered in haze. The church tower is well placed to the side, where it is a strong eye-catcher without disturbing the view.

Hello Vincent, from this vantage point the people who lived in the castle would have had a wonderful view across the valley. I like that you have included part of the castle grounds.
Excellent depth of field as we look towards the mountains.
The church spire is well included.

I am glad I visited Tyrol from Munich whilst I had the chance. It is similar to Switzerland in so many ways and considerably cheaper. Magnificent rural and mountain scenery. Tfs!

This charming church is so characteristic to this region, Tyrol/Bavaria/Switzerland.
Beautiful asymmetric composition where the church tower makes a nice focal point while the panorama of the village opens up nicely next to it. I like the vibrant green which well marks the flat valley arrea in between the mountains on both sides.
