Photographer's Note

Vitebsk, also known as Viciebsk or Vitsyebsk is a city in Belarus. Vitebsk developed from a river harbor where the Vitba River flows into the larger Dvina.

Its official founding year is 947 based on an anachronistic legend that it was founded by Olga of Kiev, but the first mention in historical record is in 1021.

Since 1992, Vitebsk has been hosting the annual Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, an international art festival.

Tatiana,
This is a nicely composed shot using the river to lead the eye through the shot. The off center placement of the church is fine helping to give the shot direction. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

Hi Tatiana,
A well composed shot of this magnificent vista. I like the depth here and the way the church dominates the heights. The photo has a natural look without undue colour saturation. Well captured.

what a lovely view! :-) exellent composition with the centered river, the pretty church on the far right
side and some nice puffy clouds above. the light and colors are really good as well as the details.
