I took this picture (18.01.2021) this morning, +5ｰCelsius, a trip of 38 km.

Dampoort Bruges

De Dampoort, second half of the 19th century (Groeninge Museum).

The Sasplein with the bridge over the old Dampoortsluis in the foreground.
The Dampoort was a city gate in the city of Bruges. It was part of the old medieval defense ring around the city. The name of the gate is still used for the place where it used to be.
This gate was given the name Dampoort. This gate was also demolished around 1870. Only one defense tower of the entire complex can be recognized in the caf� Du Phare.

Lepo mesto i arhitektura, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i dobrim tekstom.
Lep deo grada i panorama.
lepa fotografija i uhvaceni trenutak sa belim oblacima na plavom nebu.
Dobar tekst o koriscenoj tehnici i elemntima snimka.
Zelim vam lepu i mirnu noc, sve najbolje.

Hallo John,
Ik herinner me deze plaats waar je je foto nam.
Persoonlijk denk ik dat de Dampoort toch de minst interessante van alle Brugse poorten is.
Je foto toont wel een prachtige rij huizen links en een andere achter de bomen rechts.
De lucht is bijzonder mooi en siert de foto geweldig.
Zeer aantrekkelijke kleuren, perfect scherp en helder.

Hello John,
I like how the red railings to the right match the red roofs to the left. They hold the photo together and the two sides are united by the diagonal brown wall and the trees. The light clouds are quite beautiful and are rightly given two thirds of the area of the photo. Colours, light and sharpness are as perfect as ever.

Een mooi gezicht op de stad, de compositie is goed in balans door de rij gevels links en de rode brug rechts. De blauwe hemel met dunne witte bewolking en het zachte licht zorgden voor heel mooie omstandigheden.

I definitely like it! Though the Sun was hiding beyond the clouds, you managed to get a very nice photo with splendid colour contrast between the red of the bridge's parapet and the blue of the sky.

Hello John,

I see you have been out on your bicycle again, keeping fit, as well as recording some excellent sights.

This is a fine composition, with the red railings acting as a good starting point and making a fine lead inwards, past the trees and the terraced row, to link up with the houses at the far side of the Dampoortsluis, which are also showing red details.
Excellent clarity, plus well saturated colours.

Hi John,
I am glad to see year 2021 in the photo title, it means you manage to make some trips and you are healthy enough to be quite active.
The view has a lot to offer. The sky was brilliant and with this wide capture the sky steals the show.
My favourite part however are the colorful houses in the left side.
