Damme and surroundings.
The drought was a disaster for the farmers.
In 119 years at the beginning of the summer season, it was never as dry as it is now. The Flemish drought commission may advise the governors today to impose additional caption prohibitions on unnavigable watercourses.
The 釘oerenbond also expects measures in most Flemish provinces in the coming days. In the province of Antwerp there is already such a pumping ban for some ecologically sensitive areas.
Due to a combination of less rainfall and more evaporation, our country is getting into the driest start of summer since the beginning of the last century. If it does not rain quickly, it will be a disaster for agriculture and the drinking water supply.
I hope you like it.

Hallo John, the farmers must use a large scale watering system because the rain isn t coming. The drought affects a big part of Europe this year. Nice picture to illustrate a news topic. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hallo John,

Hi John,
You have captured well the action of the water sprayer. The point of view is showing the details of the field. The light is bringing out the beauty of the colours. Have a nice day.

john
really it is scenery I never had seen in your region, famous because humidity and many water. here we are facing the hardest drought in the last 20 years, but the few rains we have received are enough to make plants survive in the fields, problem is the rivers and creeks have no enough waters and even the big ones are being crossed by foot.
take care

Hello John,
This month has been the driest May on record for Britain but thankfully we do not appear to be having water shortages yet. Drought can cause dreadful problems for farmers with loss of crops.
But this field in your photograph appears to be healthy with fresh green shoots springing up while the farmer sprays powerful jets of water to nourish his crops.
A very well seen and taken photograph with excellent light, rich colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness.
Beautiful!
You take care and stay safe.
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello John,
We have recently had a couple of dangerously dry years in Sweden, but so far this year the situation is quite normal. I wouldn't have expected Belgium to have this problem of drought. It could be temporary, or it could be due to the global climate change and something we will have to get used to. This irrigation project gave you the opportunity for a fine photo of the water jets between the dark green field and the light blue sky.
Best regards,
Gert

In many places in Europe there is drought, too little rain, so farmers have to water the fields, a very nice picture showing this moment

Hi John,
I had no idea of Belgium suffering of drought. Let's hope it will rain soon. Power of those sprays is quite impressive compared to the size of the tractor. Northern Finland suffers from floods at the moment. In some places in Lapland there's still half a metre of snow. As temperatures reach +20, it is melting very quickly.

Hallo John,
Er zal heel wat gesproeid moeten worden door de hevige droogte van de afgelopen maanden, die voorlopig ook nog niet voorbij lijkt. Een mooi gezicht over het groene veld met de twee enorme waterstralen door de lucht.

Hi John,
indeed we had quite dry May in England as well, which I enjoyed very much and I took so many photos, but the garden dried out completely so I am happy to have rain now again to restore the green color.
My garden is quite spacious and I struggle to water it well in the absence of rain. I suppose I could use something like this farmer...
Very well done,
M
