Archive 2005 a bike trip to Damme

Lammegoedzak is the name of the Mississippi boat to see on the canal Bruges-Damme.

Enjoy nature and culture With the Lamme Goedzak you sail from historic Bruges to the lovely Damme. Half an hour to enjoy the unique landscape along both sides of the canal that connects Bruges with Sluis (NL). A trip to the picturesque Damme really pays off. Discover the city of Tijl and Nele. Pay a visit to the Ulenspiegel Museum or sniff around in Damme Boekendorp. You can also make lovely walks amidst nature. Damme is more than worth a detour for a cozy chat in a nice pub or for a fine gourmet dinner in a cozy restaurant.

Enjoy the beautiful polders on the way back from the Lamme Goedzak deck or talk to a drink in the bar. SPORTIVE TIP: rent a bicycle in Bruges at the Concertgebouw, cycle along quiet roads to Damme and let the Lamme Goedzak take you back to the edge of the city, or in the opposite direction.

Interesantan i lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lepo pokazano, dobra perspektiva i kontrast, lepe boje, lepo uhvacen trenutak.
Lep refleks na vodi i drvece na obali, lepa priroda.

Hello John,
It's a familiar sight, but these perfectly reflected long lines of trees are always fascinating to watch, and in this case the blueish evening light has created an attractive moody atmosphere. The boat is a good focal-point in the distance and the perfect sharpness of the photo is really impressive.

Het licht is schitterend, sowieso is het een prachtige, kalme ochtend die ervoor zorgt dat de bomen langs de vaart heel mooi worden weerspiegeld in het water. De compositie is uitstekend en mooi in balans. Het schip is een leuk detail in de verte.

A beautiful moody photo with great reflections.
But why have a Mississipi padel steam on a Belgium canal? We had one for a while on Sydney harbour as well.

Hello John, It is quite different when you look at the picture and know all that is shown there. I also went by Lamme Goedzak to picturesque Damme, I enjoyed the slow ride along the canal. it evokes nice memories of my trip to Bruges. Nice view, stunning perspective.

Superb perspective along this beautiful tree lined canal. The barge is well placed and makes a very effective focal point. Delightful soft lights and colours and a lovely collection of reflections. I like very much the repeating patterns made by the branches of the trees that can be seen in wonderful detail.

Hello John,

If ever a photograph suggested Flanders, this is it!
The low land and the smooth surfaced canal, the edging trees lines and the canal barge.
This has it all!
Your composition of converging lines creates a wonderful sense of depth and perspective, accentuated by the reflections in the water.
The suggestion of a sunset, as the sky becomes amber, adds a further atmosphere.

Hello John,
your photo could be a postcard straight away, so good it is. Brilliant POV lets us see symmetrical view and reflections in the river adds to calm evening mood. I would say if sky was slightly more fiery on the right side of picture, it could be even more stunning.

Hallo John,
Prachtige lange schaduwen over de hele lengte van het kanaal tot in de bocht.
Een heel vredig tafereel met de landerijen en de boot die rustig komt afgevaren.
Rechts achteraan krijgt de lucht een zacht roos tintje door de ondergaande zon.

Hallo John, you captured a gorgeous landscape at the sunset with an excellent light and depth. The tall trees alleys surrounding the canal make that place attractive. A cruise should be a great experience. Fine colors, good image quality, informative photo note, regards.
