The Koelewei Mill in the Belgian city of Bruges is located on the Kruisvest, on the edge of the city center. The mill has its construction year in 1996 and functions as a corn mill.

History

The mill is a reconstruction of the Bosterhout mill. This was originally in Meulebeke. The mill was built there in 1765-1766 and continued to function there until 1958.
For the construction of a new road one would move the mill about fifty meters. When the mill was disassembled, however, the plan did not go through and the mill was sold to the city of Bruges. In 1996 the city of Bruges rebuilt the mill and called it the Koelewei mill.

I appreciate the reflections on the water. The point of view is showing the details of the boats and i=of the windmill. There is a good contrast between the colours of the picture. Have a nice day.

Dobro vece, gospodine.
nteresantan i lep pogled, lep trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepo pokazano, dobra perspektiva i kontrast, lepe boje, lepo uhvacen trenutak.
Lep refleks na vodi sa brodovima i oblaci koji dolaze.
Lepo drvece i stari mlin koji odoleva vremenu sa svojom pricom o prosloscu.
Zelim vam lepu i mirnu noc, sve najbolje.

Hi John,
A bit darker exposure gives this view quite picturesque appearance. Boats of different sizes llook nice and the windmill is an excellent main focal point. I like red and green curves of those boats.

Een heel mooi, zacht licht filtert door de wolken heen. Het rustige weer zorgt voor een heel mooie sfeer, vooral met de heldere spiegelingen, net name van de molen in het midden. Mooi fotowerk.

Prachtig, John! Diezelfde iets donkerdere toets als in je vorige post. Heerlijke weerspiegelingen, machtige diepte aan de linkerkant en ook heel mooi hoe dat rood van die boot een middelpunt 駭 contrast vormt met de rest van het plaatje. Een oudje (2005), maar een topwerk!

I see this was taken on the same day as two other recent photos. The light was remarkable that day, and you managed to capture an amazing intensity of the colours. The calm weather also created stunningly beautiful reflections. Except for a few modern details this photo looks like an 18th century painting. The beauty of this scenery is timeless.

Hello John,

The canal and the mill and the barges are beautiful focal features in your photograph and are well placed in the frame but it is the light and the colours that are so amazing! I could imagine this as a water colour painting by one of the Dutch masters!

The windmill and the canal-barges beautifully appear on real and upon the water surface as a fine reflection.
The mild light condition had an effect on the surrounding, but still enough light for the good result on picture.

En deze foto werd dan slechts een klein eindje verderop genomen.
De kleuren zijn heel mooi. Vermoedelijk helpt de centraal gelegen rood-witte boot daarbij.
Weerom heel wat prachtige weerspiegelingen.
De wolkjes zorgen voor een goed bovenste deel van de foto.

who doesn't love a reflection, and when its a windmill its even better. We dont' see too many windmill reflection shots.
lovely darkened light, it looks great this way. lots of depth too, and i really like that long boat in the bg. sweet

Hello John, so many of your pictures are perfect in showing us classic type scenes from your country. This has to be one of them.
I guess that the nature of canals is that often the surface is comparatively still, thus we see near perfect reflections.
This is a very beautiful picture.
I love the sky, it reminds of the paintings of Constable.
