The bad weather of the last few days has made me search my archive
Ten years ago, I took this photo, it can't be an advertisement because this restaurant stopped its activities 6 years ago.
Maybe rich enough, I don't know

Picture 2011 taken during presentation of the best chef from Belgium
On the market of Bruges
I had permission to make the full report together with the American Ambassador to Belgium Mr Howard Gutman.

The winners Gert De Mangeleer.
A jury of professionals nominated eight candidates. The title goes to someone from the Belgian gastronomy who carried out pioneering work in the past year or who made a special contribution to the culinary sector.

Gert and Joachim went from none to 3 stars in a span of barely seven years with Hertog Jan. Gert is one of the 3 youngest three-star chefs in the world', according to organizer Horeca Expo. Joachim, partner and room director, was Belgium's First Sommelier in 2004 and was named Sommelier of the Year in 2011 by a large margin. The bosom friends are working together on a new project around their farm with their own vision of ecology and their own vegetable cultivation.

Hello John,
I am a reasonably good cook too, but maybe not at the same level as my namesake Mr. De Mangeleer.;-) It's a nice group portrait and they all have an air of confidence. They knew the value of their job. It's a very well exposed photo and of course the sharpness is perfect.

Hallo John,
Een mooi groepsportretten van deze vier koks in hun uniformen. Schorten voor, theedoek over de schouder, ze zijn klaar voor de strijd. Hun witte kleding steekt goed af tegen de donkere achtergrond. Mooi werk.

This is a lovely memory from 10 years ago. They look proud of their achievement. I am sorry to read that their restaurant did not survive, but I am sure they found other jobs.

Hello John,

They do look young to have achieved so much recognition! Wouldn't it be exciting to sample their food as well as praise their appearance on your fine portrait photograph.
You have cropped the group nicely so that they are well arranged in the frame and sharply exposed.

I have to ask ... did you present them with this portrait and did you get a chance to sample their food?

Ik herinner me dat je vroeger nog andere foto's van dit culinair evenement in Brugge getoond hebt.
Alle koks zien er nog vrij jong uit.
Hopelijk heeft je bezoek naast de mooie foto's ook nog veel culinair genot opgeleverd.
Uitstekend groepsportret van dit team.

Fantastic quality group portrait. The guys are professionally dressed in matching outfits. All very handsome. Great sharpness with nicely blurred background. I admire how you managed such a shallow depth of the field and yet the guys in the second row are also perfectly sharp.
