"Augustijnen bridge" a little bridge is one of the stone bridges over the canals of Bruges.
The bridge dates from 1391 and is one of the few preserved examples of 14th-century bridge in Bruges. The name recalls the now vanished monastery of the Augustinians.
The construction of the bridge was entrusted to the famous architect Jan van Oudenaarde.
Brabant was white stone used for the arches and a combination of white stone and limestone to pare element and the bridge railings.
Although she was fully restored some years ago, the Augustine Bridge still retained its 14th-century views.
This makes it one of the oldest original bridge in the city, along with the nearby Tower Bridge, Meebrug and Key Bridge.
In 2002 the bridge was protected as a monument
