I want these picture places as last picture of the winter 2012 - 2013

These picture has been taken minus 6 degree Celsius, a very cold morning.
This is a small rural area with a few farmers, all in a area the name "Meetjesland" in Dutch.
Meetjesland is a region in the northwest of the Belgian province of East Flanders. It is the rural area between the cities of Ghent and Bruges. In the north it borders the Dutch Zeeland Flanders, on the west by the province of West Flanders and in the east and south of the region of Ghent and Waasland. Meetjesland is one of the officially recognized Flemish regional landscapes. It is also one of the more tourist-oriented regions in East Flanders.

Meetjesland, with Eeklo as city center, is a dynamic rural regions in East Flanders. The region has a distinct agro-food character and distinctive landscapes. In the north are polders with several rivers and creeks in the south and wooded area.

Beautiful winter's scene. Iliketh light from the sun - very soft. But what I like most is the way the clouds appear like a pattern of frost in the sky. Interesting effect.

Pur essendo un controluce hai saputo gestire la luce in maniera perfetta ottenendo un risultato molto gradevole.

this beautiful winter scene looks like a cut from some fairy tale.Absolutely amazing.The combination of soft and warm light and this mist in the far distance create here really peaceful and lovely atmosphere.I like this contradtition you were able to convey here.It looks freezing,cold(the snow and mist)and so warm(the sun and light) at the same time.Delightful juxtaposition!

Hello John.

I believe you are still getting a lot of snow in Europe, even in March.
This one is a great reminder of the extreme cold of January, and the muted sun helps to convey that feeling. I particularly like the delicate trees, fence and small building on the right. Even the clouds look like ice! Your new website works well, and I am sure you will upload many more photos to it.

Hello John,

A very beautiful image from a very, very cold winter morning! Thank goodness the weather is now slowly getting warmer.

The light on the snow is delightful but the light in the sky is just divine! Fabulous cloud formations with the watery sun just trying to struggle through the cold. Perfect composition, the fences on either side leading the eye nicely into the distance. Gorgeous colours, perfect light, perfect exposure and exquisite detail and sharpness.

The image is very well built and the distance in the field gives deepness. The sun and it's rays are well caugh in a difficult backlight environment with a perfect result. The cold and winter mood is very present in this hight quality composition.

Wonderful repetition of the rippled patterns and textures in the snow with the lighting revealing all the highlights and shadows. Good sharpness and the starburst sun belies the cold. Interesting repetitive cloud patterns in the sky, too. Tfs!

The length of the field is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details and colors of the winter scenery. The light fog or haze has a special effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Dear John,

This beautiful scene conveys a feeling of extreme cold and stillness. The grazing angle of the sun has created long shadows in the snow. The light management is exquisite, considering the scene is entirely back-lit. And yet the exposure is flawless.

Voor een winterse wandeling is het perfect weer en het ziet er hier ook zeer aangenaam uit. Mooi winterlandschap heb je daar gefotografeerd, John. Heerlijk om naar te kijken. Je maakt mooie reclame voor jouw provincie. De lucht heeft hier de aandacht, die komt erg mooi over. Ook heel mooi de sporen in de sneeuw die verder het beeld in leiden. Het weggetje opzich geeft al de nodige diepte in je foto en de opkomende zon op het besneeuwde veld maakt het sfeertje kompleet. Voor jou mag het zeker nog wel even winter blijven. Het was prachtig, al die sneeuw deze winter, maar nu mag het voor mij lente worden.

You have captured the sense of cold so beautifully well here, particularly in the cold mist that fills the farthest parts of the frame. The winter sun is beautifully caught, but you can tell that it didn't offer much warmth on the day. Lovely low viewpoint to capture the details of the snow.

Very cold indeed, John, and that feeling comes through in this wonderful winter shot. Bright and crisp throughout, with the sun again giving testament to your skill, as the shot is bright without allowing the sun itself to dominate. Hello John,

You're capturing well this landscape by a good angle, good perspective and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the winter scape of rural area. It's impressive in the sequence of the winter tree which is standing on the both sides of a road, too. A solar light which is dyeing light orange to aky has attached coloring in this image as well as randam clouds.

Hello John,

The light is just wonderful and adds that touch of magic to a very crisp, winter's landscape. I really like how you have used the ground, the fence and the trees to draw our attention from the f/g to the b/g, all the time being aware of depth and perspective. Even the setting sun is strongly positioned in the frame.

However, this is little masterpiece and it shows winter really at its best and the wideness of the landscape is another attraction here, especially for me - living in a low mountain region. One can feel cold here. John, "hats off!" for this one!I like it very very much!

A winter post with a perspective. I like how the mellow light creates pastel hues on the snow. What I also like is the misty BG with the rows of trees creating a fine impression against the lovely colour of the sky. Well done!

That looks cold to me! Nice backlight control with an interesting star effect on the pale sun. The low POV and sun rays seems to give stronger texture to the snow in FG.

When it is very hot I begin to dream about winter, but the cold spells you get since a couple years would be too much for me. Your shot reminds me a lot about my childhood when winter was winter And spring wAs spring. That has changed. The snow covered road leads the viewer to the horizon with the weak sun, a compelling DOF and pleasing pastel colour hues. Well done

not much to add to the other comments. The tonal palette is so delicate and appropriate, the clouds are a wonderful echo to the slight bumps in the snow and the perspective is dramatic without being over the top. Bravo,

Hi John,

a very nice winter picture with all the ingredients what makes an atmospheric image. To walk through this scene an hour or two and then a hot cup of tea or chocolate milk at the crackling fireplace. That would be great.

je ne sais pas si je prefere celle-ci ou "sun in the viewfinder", mais je suis incapable de faire de telles photos, mais la tienne a de la personnalite alors qu il n y a aucun personnage , juste le blanc de la neige, difficile a exposer aussi, bravo... le soleil et la cabane sont parfaits sur la gauche!

Minus six would probably be an all-time record low where I am currently based - cold.cold.cold. This is a lovely composition, with good management of the backlighting. The close-to-monochrome, with some gentle shades of blue works very well. Regards, Iain.
