Archive 2005 a bike trip to Lapscheure a village on the borders of The Netherlands

After the decline of transgression at the end of the 12th century, important parts of the flood plains came to dry naturally. The drainage then posed no serious problems, as there were creeks and cracks everywhere, so that the water could be drained easily. Where necessary, these natural drainage veins were mined a bit and the seals removed. Everywhere still remnants of these creeks can be seen in the landscape. On the map of the Brugse Vrije by Pourbus, all these creeks can be clearly observed

Hallo John,
Een heel mooie lentefoto met al wat frisgroene kleuren in de bomen. Het licht is ook heel zacht en aangenaam. De compositie is ook heel sterk en mooi in balans. De grote witte wolk is een mooi extra detail.

Lep pogled i trenutak, interesantan i dobar tekst ...
Lepo poakzano, dobra perspektiva i kontrast, lepe boje, lepo uhvacne trenutak sa oblacima koji dolaze.

Hallo John,
Dat is nu eens een dorp met een mooie naam :)
Je hebt op deze foto een pracht van een wolk vastgelegd. Bovendien bevindt ze zich op de juiste plaats in het beeld.
In die streek vindt men overwegend witte huizen met rode daken. Zij passen heel goed tussen de groene graslanden en de blauwe lucht.
Mooi vind ik ook de afwisseling van land en water aan de rechterzijde.
Een aangenaam en heel rustig beeld.

Hello John,
It's a very pleasant countryside view, but the most striking feature in this well taken photo is the magnificent cloud. There is a very good balance between the trees and the cloud. This photo is also characterized by the well saturated colours and the splendid sharpness. In every way this is a typical of your careful way of using your camera.

Hello John,

Good sharpness and I like the shadow play and subtle reflections in the water. The copse of trees at left adds interest with the evergreen willow amongst the leafless deciduous trees. Tfs!

Hello John,

This early spring photograph has the most beautiful light, the colours bright and the shadows long. It looks like a relaxing place to visit.
The warm-coloured house is strongly placed and links well with the undisturbed creek.
The bright, fluffy cloud, is a great addition to your photograph, adding interest to huge expanse of sky.

A very typical picture of the Netherland landscape, flat and green with many canals and farms alongside, John.
Good visibility till far as the row of trees, "framing" the scene. The big cloud is merely a nice bonus to the whole.
