I hope you enjoy of the picture; I took the picture on the terrace second floor from it Historium.
You can see from the picture the marketplace, a place for ice skating falling on Christmas and New Year.
Central is the large illuminated ice rink.
Around it is lined up on one side chalets with all kinds of Christmas items and art small objects. On the other side are your taste buds to the test with multicultural cuisine, of course, mulled wine is not lacking.
Historium lets you see how much Bruges has developed over the centuries but still stayed the same in some way. Beautiful pictures & films and very clear explanations. The props in the museum are perfectly made. Worth a visit!
Historium knows how to portray medieval Bruges in a fascinating way and it also scores highly in terms of museum design. Historium aims to further raise the quality level through the introduction of new technical interventions and trendsetting innovations. The introduction of a new website is another step in the ongoing process of facilitating visits to Historium.
Not only is the navigation of the website very user-friendly and the new functionality very innovative, the design of the site is also more attractive. The style of the new site is colourful, lively and in keeping with the era of 1435. The new website is full of beautiful photos and pictures and aims to bring the charm of medieval Bruges to the visitor in an elegant and user-friendly way. As a preview, the visitor will enjoy a nice animation of what he/she will see in the attraction. You can look at the city of Bruges via an easy-to-understand, downloadable city map. This map links the various theme rooms to the locations which inspired them.
Even the history buff will not be left wanting. The website will provide more information about the history of Bruges and the elements that made Bruges a major power in the 15th century. All this information has been provided by a historical committee.
I hope you like it

Hallo John,
Aan de drukte op het plein is gelijk te zien dat dit een foto is van een tijdje geleden. Het geeft een prachtig overzicht op de stad en de vele gevels en de indrukwekkend toren. Mooi fotowerk.

Hello John,
A very good view of the large square and the many beautiful buildings along the sides. It is a photo from the good old days of safe crowds with no virus. In spite of the dark clouds the light was quite good and the colours are very well saturated. You did well to include almost the entire tower, except for a tiny part at the top which is hardly noticed.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi John,
The wideness of the market is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the market, of the buildings and of the bell tower. The qualitu of the light beautifies the colors. Have a nice day.

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi John
You had a great vantage point for taking this photo from well above the market and it was clearly not taken this Christmas just gone. A good wishful photo for the current times.
cheers

Hallo John,
This is a beautiful old market square with colourful stalls and almost entirely red brick facades of the encircling buildings. Good sharpness too. Tfs!

Hello John,
From the second floor, you had a fine, elevated viewpoint, from which to to gain a view of the market and still include the attractive, diverse buildings which surround it. In fact, the buildings act like a backstop, to keep attention within the market square, with the tall, clock tower strongly positioned.
There is such a variety of features to peruse, from the huts and market stalls, to the square ice rink.
Isn't it a pleasure to see so many people together, enjoying the activities and the company.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Dag John,
Een schitterende foto vanaf de tweede verdieping waarbij we neer kijken op een boeiende combinatie van fascinerende architectuur en het moderne leven op het marktplein inclusief ijsbaan.
Een prachtig sfeervol beeld van een koude winterdag.
Groet Rob

Hello John, your elevated viewpoint has enabled this excellent shot.
The beautiful buildings of Bruges make a great frame for the market place and ice rink.
The flags and green canopies add a nice splash of extra colour.
Super sharp.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi John,
it is certainly one of the most beautiful spots in the town and the tower so characteristic and recognizable.
The weather cold and uninviting but the dark clouds are well recorded and resulted in an original dark mood here. We see plenty of people -obviously in the pre-covid times yet. I am just surprised that you decided to cut the tower,
Excellent work,
M

Hi John
You need a bit of breathing space up there! Classic Bruges with impressive buildings set off by the looming church with lots of festive activity on the ground level. Shown so well here with great colours and contrast
Best regards

Dag John You posted an attractive overview on the market square that seemed very popular before the virus era!
So much interesting architectural details seen at rear giving me desire to walk down for a closer look at the historical facts! Thanks for showing.
Vrindelijke groeten

Hello John,
This winter market is beautiful and grand. The cold climate and the historical constructions in the background make the environment even more special. Incredible tower located on the left, really the traditional architecture of the city has been perfectly preserved. When I was in Germany I visited some Christmas markets, and it is really a very interesting event to participate, with several interesting handicrafts and typical food stalls in the region.
Best Regards

Hi John.
This great panoramic view of the square is splendid, I suppose that from a window of the Museum, which increases the perspective, very well the tower located to one side, some event is held in the square with which it looks so lively.
A magnificent photo, with beautiful natural colors, very good lighting and excellent sharpness.
Well done. I love it.
Enjoy the weekend.
Very best regards.
Luis.
