Creek and river Flettersdam Lapscheure

In contrast to the area north of Bruges, which suffered little from the Dunkirk III B transgression, large areas of the region studied here were flooded by this flood; and this transgression also gave rise to the Zwin.
It is currently not entirely clear how the drainage of the area under consideration took place before the Zwin was created. In any case, this drainage took place in the direction of the Sincfala via then existing natural creeks and rivers, the most important of which was Flettersdam, through which the Zwin was later formed.

Heel mooi plaatje, John. Heerlijk zachte kleuren, hoewel het ongetwijfeld nog koud is buiten. De trekkende vogels en de hoeves in de verte zijn mooie elementen in het geheel. Topwerk!

Hallo John,
Schril contrast tussen de vorst op het gras op de voorgrond en de roodachtige herfsttinten van het gebladerte verderop en zelfs aan de horizon.
Mooie compositie en een foto met veel diepte.
Goed dat we ook een stukje van de overzijde van het water in beeld krijgen.
Ik hou ook van de lange vlucht vogels in de lucht.

Hello John.
The frost covering the ground has given this view a very appealing smoothness. I really like the contrast of the mild green tone of the ground and the almost red trees and bushes. The scenery is very beautiful, especially along the long row of trees in the distance. I also like the birds seen in the sky. The photo is well composed and also perfectly exposed.

Amazing capture with the frost in the foreground. It adds an extraordinary decoration to the scene and indicates the season.
I admire the amazing depth of the field here with the clarity so good we can admire the houses on the horizon.

A great evocation of a crisp and cold morning with beautiful low sunlight highlighting trees and buildings in the distance. The row of trees along the horizon makes a nice effect, and the birds in the sky add to the atmosphere.

Hi John,
Frost makes nice highlights on the foreground. Sunny background with canal and buildings look great on this morning light. I think tighter framing could make this even more impressive.

What a beautiful morning you have recorded!
The hoar frost is evident on the f/g grasses, yet warmth is progressing as the sun casts its rays over the land.
I love the b/g of houses, the line of winter trees and the flock of birds. It could be an oil painting!

A beautiful composition, which seems very early in the morning, due to that frost in the foreground, an ideal contrast with those reddish tones of some trees, the channel adds charm and the mist gives a nostalgic touch.

this area is almost frozen...
the same happened to my city
Almyros last night with the
temperature too low about 1 degree
above the zeroo...
but today the day was too sunny
with a temperature about 14 degrees..
too hot for me after a snowy week...
