Sveta Nedelya Cathedral after a heavy fall of snow, 40cm in some parts of Sofia. It was built, destroyed and rebuilt several times: 10th century / 1867 / 1933.

A picture from three years ago, high winter with lot's of snow, Chris.
Yet, we get a distinct details shown of the edifice, naked frozen trees and cars on the street.

Hello Chris,
If the present weather in Stockholm continues like today, we will soon have views like this. I don't immediately remember this church but I must have seen it. It is quite beautiful but it's the snow, especially on the trees, that make the view special. The colours and clarity turned out well despite the dull sky.

Your photograph has revealed clearly just what an amazing effect a layer of snow can have on a scene!
The church, the trees, even the cars, seem united in this attractive white covering. The trees look particularly beautiful!

You have chosen a fine viewpoint to include the features in the one frame.

Hello Chris,
A great shot of the cathedral in some lovely winter conditions. The snow covers both the building and the surrounding trees so well and the warm tones of the walls stand out well from all the white parts.

You've got into the TE snow act, maybe to make us in Australia feel cool. (It is meant to be 34 here today followed by just 16 tomorrow!).

Winters in Sofia seem to be colder than where I live.
The snowfall was also significant.
The view of the cathedral is beautifully framed by the snow-covered branches of the trees.

Hi Chris,
fantastic winter capture. I do consider visiting Bulgaria whenever it becomes possible but I think I would be there rather in the summer and far away from the capital.
Very impressive abundance of snow. The only thing which I regret is that the upper silhouette of the dome seems to be gone by being white on white.
