Dubrovnik and Adriatic, a photo from Dubrovacko-Neretvanska, Coast

Photographer's Note

I spent a few days in Dubrovnik during the height of summer. This picturesque walled town sits majestically on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. Over the horizon about 270 kilometres to the west is Italy and Bosnia can be reached just 5 kilometres inland to the east. Here you can see some sea kayaks departing to do a tour around the craggy sea cliffs which border the town. The water was perfectly suited for a swim, which is exactly how I spent the afternoon before walking the perimeter of the town wall at sunset (photos to come). The building shown here is the 11th century Fort Lovrijenac which you can tour.

Hello Matt,
Dubrovnik is a beautiful city,isnｴt it?I know that place well,just right from the Pile Gate.I took also some pictures from this place.Very nice and calm small bay with cristal clear water.You did a great job here.The lighting,colors and contrast are superb.Beautiful scenery.

love the blues in this shot! It makes the detail and grey tones of the rocks and walls stand out so attractively. Your usual high standard of execution and a beautifully compelling presentation.

Hi Matt, a scenic location well presented. compostion works well, with the castle looking out over the water, forming a good diagonal. Square-ish format works well too. cheers, Steve

What a great country to visit - firstly I like the horizon the contrast of the vibrant blues gorgeous... the cove with the boats looks very inviting...
