Photographer's Note

A very cold February day in Tallinn: -25 degrees max all day and a lot colder at night. So cold at night in fact that the DSLR stopped working and had to go under my coat to warm up again! But during the day the sun was out, the sky was clear, there was plenty of snow, and Tallinn was looking very photogenic. This shot was taken up the hill in Toompea, which despite its centrality, is not part of the bustling commercial centre of the city, so I was able to get the cold, empty, deserted atmosphere I was after. One pedestrian just reminds us that there is life out there in winter!
