Photographer's Note
Ounasvaara fell, near Rovaniemi. January 2003.
The combination of frost and snow make so that the trees are full of snow almost all the winter. This is also due to the fact that winters are not so windy and the temperature remains below freezing point.
This phenomenon is common in this area but occurs really above 300 m a.s.l. In this picture at about 200 meters a.s.l, the phenomenon is not real, only first sights can be seen. At 300 meters, trees are so full of snow that theu are curved down. The charge of snow can also break tree trunks.
