Ponts Couverts

These bridges are called the Ponts Couverts (covered bridges) and are located at the western end of the Grand ﾎle in Strasbourg. Along with the towers, they were built in the 13th century as part of a defensive work. Despite their name, the bridges haven稚 been covered anymore since 1784, when their roofs were removed.

Goedenavond Lars,

U heeft heel mooi gewacht tot de kleine boot verscheen.
Dat geeft echt een meerwaarde aan uw compositie.
De brug en beide torens vervolledigen de foto.
Samenstelling en presentatie zijn volwaardig. Bedankt

Lep pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lep most i stara arhitektura, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom, uhvacenim trenutkom sa camcem i oblacima koji dolaze.

the tower bridge of Starsbourg :)
Great repeated motif of the tower. The sky was lovely and the boat adds some life and action to the scene.

Dus de 'Ponts Couverts' zijn niet meer overdekt.
Prachtige foto met beide torens naast elkaar en het bootje op de voorgrond.
De wolken bevinden zich mooi aan weerszijden van de top van de hoogste toren.
Goede weerspiegeling van de kleuren in het water.

Hi Lars,a covered bridge in the past, but now only the name remains and the roof is gone since longtime as i can read. The view is magical, especially for the old towers so well preserved,great postcard well done as usual. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano

One of Strasbourg's most famous sights. I posted an almost identical photo quite a few years ago but without a boat.
A good photo of the area with the boat adding a human touch.

Hi Lars,

A beautiful sunny day in Strasbourg. The photo is well exposed and has excellent sharpness. The two towers are the main focus of the photo, but the bridge and the buildings and trees also make the photo pleasant to look at.

Tv� vackra torn sammanbundna av medeltida broar. B蚯en 舐 liten men har stor betydelse f bilden. Det 舐 aldrig fel att ha lite liv och relse i fgrunden. Som vanligt en utm舐kt exponering och en v舁 balanserad bild.

Hello Lars, we can only imagine how this bridge must have looked before 1784, what a pity that the roofs were removed.
The towers are a lovely and distinctive feature of what remains of the bridge, they are unusual.
Another sunny day which gave you a good light and a pleasant blue sky. The little boat adds extra interest and colour.

Hello Lars,
I guess it sounds better to call them the "covered bridges" instead of "the formerly covered bridges". ;-) Either way, these centuries-old bridges and towers are lovely historic sites. I like the small boat going by in the foreground, too. Take care!
