Photographer's Note
European Parliament
Let痴 go to another part of Strasbourg. Even though Brussels is often regarded as the capital of the European Union, it is not the only seat of the European Parliament. According to a decision made in 1992, it is legally bound to meet twelve times a year in Strasbourg as well (and all votes must take place there as well).
Despite this heavily criticised going back and forth between Brussels and Strasbourg, it was still interesting to visit the parliament building in Strasbourg last summer. The building is called the Louise Weiss Building (Louise Weiss was a French feminist pro-Europe politician and MEP) and was opened in 1999 by French President Jacques Chirac and President of the European Parliament Nicole Fontaine. It is located in the Quartier Europ馥n near the intersection of the river Ill and the Marne乏hine Canal.

Hi Lars, great beautiful building paid for with our money, a symbol of the waste of money, of its uselessness and of many people who "work" inside, overpaid, only to create more problems and bureaucracy and with very little power on the international scene. Sorry for the outburst but your beautiful photo was an opportunity to do so. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Goedenavond Lars,

H舁sningar,
Gert

Hi Lars,
I remember photographing this structure as well.
Interesting geometry, good angle.
Not many people that Europe has this additional capital yet.
I suppose the role of Germany and France may increase in the EU after British departure.
Very interesting reportage,
M

Hi Lars,
The reflections on the windows are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the European Parliament. The light is making the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hello Lars,
It is quite a transparent building; I hope the European Parliament is just as transparent.

Hallo Lars,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hello again,
So the pedestrian walk is closed now? It wasn't in 2012. Sad to see that. Here I show you my vision of the place: https://www.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/France/East/Alsace//photo1445920.htm
I like it darker. :)
Best Wishes,
Gy.
