Gutenberg and a Carousel

Another charming (apart from the large entrance to an underground carpark) square in the centre of Strasbourg is Place Gutenberg, named after German inventor and printer Johannes Gutenberg (1400-1469), who introduced the printing press to Europe. Gutenberg lived in Strasbourg for several years. Gutenberg痴 statue is also found in the square, right next to a carousel.

Lite kulturhistoria och lite ne, och b蘚a drar de till sig folk, vilket kan gl臈ja en fotograf. Husen i bakgrunden 舐 ocks� intressanta med sin ha erv蚣ingar och branta tak. Det ser ut som en trivsam plats, och bilden 舐 fint disponerad l舅gs en diagonal.

Hello Lars,
We saw this carousele which looks as stand there for ages...
I remember it from our visit in 2013.
A fine colorful and attractive picture, combined many objects within the square.

Goedenavond Lars,

Ik weet niet hoe het komt, maar een draaimolen op de kermis maakt de kermis compleet.
Ook wanneer het in Nederland is, de mooie oude muziek maakt het gezellig.
Uw foto is uit een goede positie genomen, met standbeeld en deel van de gebouwen in de achtergrond.

Hello Lars, it is a very interesting carousel with an upper level; the colours seem more subdued than we see in the U.K. although when it is illuminated the colours will probably be brighter.
The statue of Gutenberg is well placed in the composition.
It is good to see people out and about.
Very good sharp quality.

The presence of the persons is animating the scene. The point of view is showing the details of the statue and of the carrousel. The colors and the sharpness are very good. Have a nice day.

Hej Lars,

I saw one of these in Paris near the Eiffel Tower, which made a nice backdrop. Good sharpness and the obelisk and statue at left appear to be presiding over the square. Tfs!

Hello Lars,

Another fine photograph from Strasbourg, it's such an interesting city!
The carousel emphasises the grand space of the square.
I'm glad you included the statue, it helps to create a natural guide, the features increasing in height as viewers progress.

I had to smile, Gutenberg looks to be showing a petition which I surmised to be a complaint about him having to listen to the carousel music, all day!

Hi Lars,
Lovely square and there seem to be so much going on here. The composition became quite busy. I like it.
There is the architecture behind which is traditional but also there is the caroussel and the monument.
