Photographer's Note

The Moselle (/moʊˈzɛl/ moh-ZEL,[1] French: [mɔzɛl] (About this soundlisten); German: Mosel [ˈmoːzl̩] (About this soundlisten); Luxembourgish: Musel [ˈmuzəl]) is a river that rises in the Vosges mountains and flows from western Germany through Luxembourg,and north-eastern France. It is a left bank tributary of the Rhine, which it joins at Koblenz. A small part of Belgium is in its basin as it includes the Sauer and the Our.

Its lower course "twists and turns its way between Trier and Koblenz along one of Germany's most beautiful river valleys."
In this section the land to the north is the Eifel which stretches into Belgium; to the south lies the Hunsr�ck. The river flows through a region that was cultivated by the Romans.
Today, its hillsides are covered by terraced vineyards where "some of the best Rieslings grow".
Many castle ruins sit on the hilltops above wine villages and towns along the slopes.
Traben-Trarbach with its art nouveau architecture and Bernkastel-Kues with its traditional market square are two of the many tourist attractions on the Moselle river

Hello Costantino,
You had a slightly difficult angle, but you managed to capture the canoe in a good position as it is heading towards the bridge and the fine building beside it. The trees are nicely reflected in the river and the photo has a very good clarity and fine contrasts.

The kayak is well placed in the frame and animates the scene. Good sharpness and nice reflections. The three arched bridge adds a focal point near the Vanishing point. Tfs!

I always thought that Luxembourg is culturally closer to Belgium and Netherlands but looking at the map I see that Luxembourg City is much further south and seems to have better connections with France and Germany.
Great reportage from Metz. The paddle boat in the foreground makes a huge difference, adding so much interest here,

A nice view across the calm river on a clear and sunny day. The canoe is well included in the foreground and I like the autumn colours at right and the bridge in the background. I believe I had lunch once in the restaurant on the right hand side of the bridge.
