Mt St Michel, a photo from Basse-Normandie, North

Photographer's Note

This is the famous Mt St Michel in Normandy, France.
I had the chance to visit the location several times and get different kinds of light.
This is my favorite structure in France but it has become extremely popular in the last 10-15 years to the point were takes away from the experience of being there.

This is a spectacular shot!
I have commented on this scenery a few times before, it is simply a beautiful place, but the way you present it here with a stunning B+W is just great.
I love the reflection of the spire in the foreground puddle.

Wonderful photo. Your compo made it looks like a lost and mysterious kingdom and the feeling is reinforced by the strong clouds and the B&W that make the constrasts very good. The non continuous reflection is also great.

Hi Emmanuel,
The key factor here is of course the sky and the reflection in the foreground. It is very minor, but that small portion of water with the tower in it is essentiel for the whole picture...stunning and absolute great work..!!!

Hi, this is very beautiful, you have a good composition which is enhanced by B&W.The sky is very dramatic looking and the reflections make the atmosphere complete. regards, Jean

c'est tr鑚 beau,un travail de noir et blanc superbe.
Par contre,je trouve dommage la ligne d'horizon et la photo cadr馥 au milieu de l'image.un cadrage au ras du clocher avec un air de "pano"serait pas mal??

Excellent image, for the POV, the use of the reflection and the crop. The clouds cooperated and the choice of B&W rendered the image more artsy and dramatic. Great work, TFS!

Although a common subject, you did great with this with the B&W, contrast, clouds, and castle reflection. Everything--both the clouds and the puddled water--seems to emanate from the castle. It feels like the clouds are in motion.

Une image en noir et blanc de grande qualit�. Une composition 駲uilibr馥 et un tr駸 bon traitement du ciel; Le reflet dans la flaque d'eau donne un bon 駲uilibre au clich�.

voila le type m鑪e de la photo au un avant plan se justifie pleinement. bonne prise de vue le monochrome est bien trait� en apporte de la force � ce clich� bien compos� le ciel est parfait le seul regret la ligne d horizon QUI COUPE L IMAGE EN DEUX UN TIER DEUX TIERS AURAIENT ETE MIEUX MAIS C EST TRES BEAU COMME CELA AUSSI. Hi Emmanuel, this is as good a photo of this place as I've ever seen. I love the wet sand and reflections. The drama of the sky is wonderful and B&W might seem an odd choice to some but I think it makes the shot look timeless. Excellent work. Paul.

You managed to capture a real nice landscape and B&W works here extremely well. That puddle of water in the front is really nice and like Henk said, having reflection of the church there makes the difference. Maybe you could have used it even more (getting closer and trying to get more of that church to be in that puddle?). Anyways, well done!

Tr鑚 beau noir et blanc avec une superbe composition (bien vu le reflet dans le flaque).Le beau ciel t'a permis de r饌liser ces forts contrastes qui donnent un grand int駻鑼 � ton image. Je me demande seulement si tu n'aurais pas pu essayer d'馗laircir tr鑚 l馮鑽ement le Mont? (je dis 軋 mais je suis quasiment nul en photoshop....)
