Photographer's Note
The domes of Sacre Coeur in Paris on Mont Martre. it is easy to lose a day in the quaint little back streets of Mont Martre..... enjoying the artworks of local artists, browsing souvenir shops and enjoying wonderful little cafes.
Sacre Coeur is wonderfully detailed and was quite difficult to capture photographically on the day we were there as there was a food and wine festival on - showcasing the best of France. Unfortunately, it was very very crowded. I did not carry my Canon with me on this day and so this was taken on my Panasonic Lumix.
from Wikipedia...The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, commonly known as Sacr-C忖r Basilica and often simply Sacr-C忖r (French: Basilique du Sacr-C忖r, pronounced [sakʁe kʁ]), is a Roman Catholic church and minor basilica, dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, in Paris, France. A popular landmark, the basilica is located at the summit of the butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city. Sacr-C忖r is a double monument, political and cultural, both a national penance for the excesses of the Second Empire and socialist Paris Commune of 1871 crowning its most rebellious neighborhood, and an embodiment of conservative moral order, publicly dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, which was an increasingly popular vision of a loving and sympathetic Christ.
The Sacr-C忖r Basilica was designed by Paul Abadie. Construction began in 1875 and was finished in 1914. It was consecrated after the end of World War I in 1919

Ciao Kathryn
Meravigliosa.
Ciao, buon fine settimana e tanti auguri di buona Pasqua

Hi Kathryn
one of my favourite places and a POV that brings out the beauty and wonder of this building superbly. Gloriously cropped with amazing detail and real presence. Love it!

Howdy Kathryn,
Clever positioning zooming upwards to avoid the human crowd, and focus on architectural details and textures of this elaborate and beautiful church. Appearing to be a mixture of architectural styles - Roman, Renaissance, Georgian, etc.
Thanks for sharing,
Have a wonderful Easter weekend,
Cheers,
Ray

Hi Kathryn,
This is a really wonderful way to share this magnificent church, you have chosen a great segment to share, with these three domes reaching into the sky like this and giving and excellent feel for the level of fine detail and design. The greys of the stonework show so superbly against the blue sky, and all of these Romanesque arches are intriguing to the eye, drawing it inwards and upwards into the scene. Really nicely done.
Cheers

Hello Kathryn,
Excellent composition of Sacre Coeur. if not the blue sky above, it seems a black and white photo. Fascinating details of this unique architecture.
HAppy Easter to you and your family

Hi Kathryn
Well composed and exposed shot which makes the most of the architecture's fine lines and the lovely blue sky. I suppose that ideally you would like a little more space above the highest cross, but you've done well to get as much as you have into this one. It's lovely to see the details on the walls and domes of the basilica. Makes me want to visit again. The crowds, as you say, are a problem; but have you seen them at Mont St-Michel?
Regards,
Andrew

Hello Kathryn
Wonderful close cropped view of the beautiful basilica of Sacre Coeur. It proves again that when you got the eye, you don't need an expensive high end camera to get a great photo. The upwards view has nicely cropped out the hordes of people and the impressive architecture comes out great against this lovely sky.
have a great day and happy easter

Hi Kathryn
I have to admit, at first glance I would never think this was taken in Paris - but then again what do i know?
you said it was difficult to photograph, but it looks fine to me. nice to see you were able to capture the tiles and textures on the large dome.
Upwards POV's often are best for these large structures, fine post
cheers
