Eglise de Saint Lambert des Bois.
In this Easter Sunday, why not a papagolfade which I dedicate to my friend Philippe !
This small church, very simple has a harmonious and beautiful architecture.
Admire this bell-tower and its tiles of wood and this small porch, the dating from the X鑪e century!
The commune of Saint-Lambert was strongly marked by the presence close to the monastery of Port-Royal-des Champs, which was the high-place of jans駭isme of the middle of the XVIIe century until 1709, date of the closing of the monastery by order of Louis XIV.
The Saint-Lambert-des-Bois life was organized, right from the start, around the first vault dating from X鑪e century, then, little by little, around the Church and of the Cemetery which preserves the remainders of the Nuns of Port-Royal.
The commune was called, until the end of the XVII鑪e century, GERMAINVILLE. Since IV鑪e century, the church was dedicated to Saint Blaise, bishop Armenian, of international reputation. In 1538, it was devoted to Saint Lambert, bishop of Liege, born in Ma�stricht in VIII鑪e century, and its name was given to the village at the beginning of the XVIII鑪e century.

You show us a truly modest little church here. I like the many small beautiful details one can detect at this building and that you show it in its surroundings. It seems to be built for eternity. An overall good contribution here!

J'aime aussi beaucoup les 馮lises.
Celle-ci a quelque chose de touchant, est-ce sa forme trapue, la couleur chaude des mat駻iaux, le charme de son cimeti鑽e ? Sans doute tout � la fois, et rendu de fort belle fa輟n. Du beau travail, vraiment.

Bonjour Jean Luc,

Such a beautiful little church, ancient, too! Very nicely composed and exposed, with beautiful colors and sharpness. Although I am not so much a religious person, I find myself drawn to photographing churches. Probably because they are generally so opulent and mysterious, unlike this quaint house of worship. Nice job!

Un grand merci pour cette tr鑚 charmante attention et cette d馘icace. J'appr馗ie comme il se doit cet 馘ifice religieux, son architecture, et son clocher � essentage en tuiles de bois, sa forme ventrue soutenue par des contreforts, son petit porche hors oeuvre, tout dans sa pr駸entation impose le respect d� � nos a�eux b穰isseurs.
J'ai appris que nombreuses personnalit駸 avaient v馗ues � Saint Lambert des Bois, notamment :
Blaise PASCAL - 1623 � 1662, math駑aticien, physicien, philosophe et 馗rivain ; jans駭iste convaincu, il fit de nombreuses d馗ouvertes � Port-Royal, 馗rivit les Provinciales et les Pens馥s � Vaumurier.
Jean RACINE - 1639 � 1699, po鑼e dramatique, 駘钁e et fid鑞e des Solitaires de Port-Royal, 馗rivit de nombreuses trag馘ies et fut historiographe de Louis XIV.
Nicolas BOILEAU -1636 � 1711...

Nice shot of this stone church. The angle of the shot works well giving the photo a nice sense of depth. The grave stones add depth to the scene. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF.

C'est vrai qu'elle est belle cette petite 馮lise de campagne avec une architecture particuli鑽e. La lumi鑽e n'騁ait pas a son plus fort, mais l'馮lise est bien pr駸ent馥.
Le cimeti鑽e autour ajoute de l'ambiance! ;D

Je prefere cette vue a ta derniere car on voit la papagolfade dans son contexte et la luminosite d'arriere plan est moins forte
