Photographer's Note
This photograph was taken in Carcassonne during spectacle of knights. Among those taken at the time, I appreciate particularly this one because the close-up shot permit us to see the concentration of the rider. This composition also makes it possible to occult the spectators who are behind the rider.

Hello Rejean,
In spite of the fact that I believe you cropped this photo a little too closely, I am attracted to your photograph. It is like the knight is drawing me back in time to the middle ages. I like knight's no-nonsense expression and your inclusion of the old medieval stone castle is excellent. What a beautiful horse. Very good and interesting photo!

Hi Rejean,
congratulations for your courage to cut off the horse's head - I would have done the same to hide the multi-coloured spectators who definitely would have spoilt the pic. I watched this spectacle myself in August 2007, and you really caught the atmoshere. You can almost feel the knight's determination.
Cheers, Knut

Hi R駛ean
Unexpectedly I am brought back to the middle ages :) A really great image, and as you say, the look of concentration on the riders face is fantastic, but I suppose in those times, attention was required to stay alive. A great capture, thank you.
Best wishes
