Photographer's Note

I visited Marseilles in September, 2016, in order to discover a city with a very special captivation, and where I met a few good friends of the city, photographers also.
During a pleasant walk along the "Vieux Port" (Old Port), and while I was enjoying the good geometry of the "Grande Roue" (Big Wheel), I looked for this setting closed on its axis and its radiuses, for to try to catch its high graphic effect.
I hope to have obtained it.

Visit� Marsella en Septiembre de 2016, para descubrir una ciudad con un encanto muy especial, y donde me encontr� con unas buenas amigas de la ciudad, fotrafas tambi駭.
Durante un agradable paseo por el Vieux Port, y disfrutando la buena geometr僘 de la Grande Roue, busqu� este encuadre cerrado sobre su eje y sus radios, para intentar captar su alto grafismo.
Espero haberlo conseguido.

fun photo, fun composition. its great that you got a few of the stalls at the top right corner to put everything into perspective. nice blues in the centre, with the metal posts extending outwards. Great shot my friend.

Hello Josep,
Excellent close-up photo of the heart of this big Ferris wheel. The warm colours of the structure and the dark blue centre stand out wonderfully from the pale blue sky. The blurry bird is a nice inclusion too.

I like the angle you have taken and the way you've isolated a few of the cars and part of the wheel. Very precise detail enhanced by the clear blue sky and the bird is the icing of the roll giving this total image far more impact. Great shot.

I visited Marseille in November 2017 and this wheel is gone I suppose. I do not remember it. Fantastic graphic effect. Excellent composition, wonderful colours.
Have you met our friends there? I had a lot of fun with Gigi, Isabelle and Vero.

Hello Josep,
Not only did you catch the high graphic effect of the big wheel, you also caught a big bird in flight in the corner. All the pieces of the wheel are highly attractive, but I find such small details as this bird equally important to the total impact of a photo. Something alive, soft and moving freely as a contrast to the big machinery. But generally it's the intricate pattern of the wheel, the colours and the fine exposure that makes this photo so nice.

Fabulosa composici, para lo cual hay que tener una gran visi fotografica, para elegir este POV con un primer plano de la parte central de la rueda de la noria y as� captar todo el graf﨎mo de su estructura, ideal la rueda con esa especie de aspas azules y el circulo verde, dan un gran toque crom疸ico, y el p疔aro en la esquinita, eso si que es ya la guinda del pastel.
Un bonito colorido, que da mas relevancia a a la imagen.
Magn凬ica gesti de la luminosidad y de la nitidez, para disfrutar con los detalles.
Bien visto y realizado. Me gusta.
Que disfrutes del fin de semana que se inicia.

O zoom foi bem utilizado para fotografar essa roda-gigante, o resultado � muito bom! A nitidez � irretoc疱el, assim como a luz e as cores tamb駑 (principalmente o azul mais forte). O p疽saro � um bom detalhe e foi fotografado no momento perfeito.

Ferris wheels have enjoyed a renaissance in recent years. They used to very popular in the 60's & 70's then gradually declined in use throughout the 80's and 90's. Now they are back with a vengeance and popping up like mushrooms in large cities all around the world. Tfs!
