What could be better than spiral marble columns? Double spiral marble columns, of course. These are in a side altar in the cathedral of St Reparate, a baroque church in Nice. It was started in 1650, and completed in 1685, with additions made at various times until 1900.

The interior is well decorated in baroque style, with lots of marble, plaster and gold, and large paintings of holy people gesturing dramatically towards the sky. Some people might think that the ornamentation is excessive, but I think it's just right. In my opinion, a square centimetre of wall that is not decorated is a lost opportunity.

its really funny when you look at THIS wall, then I look at the wall in my house and I think...how come mine doesn't look as elegant as that? haha. this is pretty out there, over the top.
There are no dead spots at all, almost every inch has something for our eyes to feast upon. cheers
