La f di biou
The herd ( "La fe di biou", faith, passion of the herd) is the set of practices relating to the Camargue bull,"the biou".
The Camargue bull differs from its Hispanic congeners by its horns lyre-shaped, his narrow forehead and his eyes bright and prominent.
It is a specimen "light" and rarely exceed 1.30 m and 400 kg.
Camargue practices include: the "abrivado" which can be disrupted by "li agantaire", "l'enciero", the "bandido" and the "roussatao".
The races are peaceful and do not include any killing. The principle of the Camargue show is for "razeteurs" to remove a cockade and tassels attached to the front of the bull around the base of the horns.
Photography
The shooting was done in one late November morning misty and cloudy. To account for these light conditions, sensitivity equivalent iso-400 was chosen.
The bulls are peaceful animals ... far (see the movement of the tail of the friend pictured): the use of a telephoto lens is recommended, by a 300 mm telephoto. The friend bull does not move too much, the camera has been set in aperture priority mode. For a sufficient deepness of field, the aperture is fixed at f / 8. With such an opennig and sensitivity, speed is 1 / 125 th.
