Photographer's Note
An original Bordeaux glass fir in front of St Andr Cathedral. An alternative to the traditional big tree wanted by the ecological mayor Pierre Hurmic in order to avoid cutting a real tree. The choice created a controversy, it is not to everyone's taste ... but the result is original and spectacular with this work in recycled glass by the artist Arnaud Lapierre.

Bonjour Jean,

hello Jean, I must confess, that I prefer traditional real Christmas trees. But it is an interesting attempt and the big tree was saved.
Splendid blue hour shot.

Hello Jean,
The production of the glass used for this tree probably caused more environmental damage than cutting down a real tree, so from that angle I don't see much point of it. But I like the idea nevertheless. It's a quite beautiful artistic creation and would fit the same exhibition as the cheaper tree from Cape Verde. Furthermore the main photo is very nicely composed.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Jean,
Many people are not very fond of changes in this ever-changing world.
Certainly when it comes to traditions, change creates a lot of resistance.
If one were to study the history of many traditions, one would be surprised how they have changed over time.
I think this beautiful sustainable Christmas tree is a wonderful evolution of the traditional Christmas tree.
Excellent composition with the two church towers in the background
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Bonjour Jean,
Very original Chrsitmas tree indeed. I like that you also showed it from a distance which allows us to better imagine it. But I do agree that the main photo is more iompressive. You have so well combined the tree with the two towers of the cathedral. The resulting effect is so attractive. Of course you captured it at my favourite time of the day,
Excellent work,
M

Bonjour Jean,
Un sapin en vitre est original et 馗ologique. La prise de vue permet de voir les d騁ails du sapin de Nol en verre. La lumi鑽e environnante met en valeur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journ馥.

Hello Jean,
Very smart to use this tree as a third tower before the cathedral. It makes the composition very strong.
Thanks and regards,
Gerrit

Hi Jean
A very pleasant imagery in spirit of the season with impressive pov, The stark contrast of the Tree is a vital focal point where many other features also draw attention. Great colourful work keeping the whole low light image in proper exposure. Well done
Best wishes

Hi Jean.
Sensational the perspective of this original tree, which seems to compete with the height of the towers, I like that effect of the tree's terraces and the lights inside.
Great color, brightness and sharpness.
Nice work. That we enjoy.
Have a nice day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Unusual and exceptional, Jean, modern approach for a "tree".
The upwards POV with the double Cathedral towers combined old and new.
Merry Christmas, happy holiday,
Ike

Bonjour Jean, a lovely alternative to cutting down a real tree, and one that can be used time and time again I imagine.
An excellent point of view with the twin towers of the cathedral framing the modern work.
The glass tree offers lots of possibilities for a photographer.
Thanks for sharing.
Happy Christmas.
Kind regards, Jean.

I agree with the mayor, why to cut a real tree only to throw it in the garbage in january ? the one made in glass is very interesting. TFS.
take care

Bonjour Jean,
Missed this one. I like the symmetry of the three triangular structures and how they meld together in symmetrical formation. Good colour, sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hello Jean
In my opinion, beautiful and creative work has been done instead of cutting down a tree. Well seen. Thanks for sharing
