To mark the event, here are giant Chinese lanterns... but taken in France! The year that begins is the year of the water tiger ... well, on my sight it is other animals that we see, that's how it is!

The Lunar New Year is big around the Sydney area too and this is a great photo of the arch at night.

Hello Jean,

The Chinese New Year is always celebrated in the cities but, in my small village, nothing happens.
This illuminated archway, decorated with animals, makes a strong focal feature and a great way to explain what is happening.
The lights beneath the arch are seeming to draw us inwards.

Hello jean, These translucent colourful decorations remind me of what I saw in Dubai. beautiful night shot. I like here, especially the Pegasus against the black sky.

Hello Jean,
This will do me ... perfectly fine.
Not exactly as I used to see in the Chinese New Year.
The most important is that I see a sort of 'Girrafe' in the formed of 'Dragon' :-)
And also a Chinese horse with wings. The rest which are not included in Chinese zodiac ... as I see , the more the merrier in 'Prosperity and Joy'.
Thanks for the fusion of 'French Chinese' CNY wishes , the year of Tiger !!!
