Son histoire

L帝glise Marie-Madeleine a connu bien des phases d誕m駭agement :
Sa construction d饕ute en 1183 au c忖r de la cit�.
La base du clocher , les piliers et chapiteaux de la nef nous restent de cet 馘ifice. L帝glise d馘i馥 � Marie-Madeleine n誕vait qu置ne fonction de secours, puisque l帝glise principale se trouvait dans la cour du ch穰eau.

Ce n弾st qu弾n 1377 qu弾lle devient l帝glise paroissiale et b駭馭icie d置n agrandissement : un ch忖r et un transept sont ajout駸.
Plusieurs raisons sont avanc馥s pour expliquer ce transfert : le roi Charles V, propri騁aire du ch穰eau, voulait 騅iter les all馥s et venues des fid鑞es et les habitants trouvaient que l帝glise 騁ait trop en hauteur...
Apr鑚 1465, le report se fait doucement de l帝glise du ch穰eau � celle de la ville et quatre autels lat駻aux sont install駸 dans les basses-nefs qui sont 駘argies.

Bonjour Philippe,
The note reminded me of a book I was reading, a very long story about a family mason-masters who built churchs and cathedral in the 12th century both in England and France.
The beautiful POV chosen shown in fine scale, light and clear details of the ancient stones.

Hello Philippe,
It's a beautiful church which to me looks quite original. I get a feeling it was started in the Romanesque style but finished with Gothic details. The flying buttresses on the second floor look strange but give the church a very special appearance. You did well to find such an undisturbed angle for the photo.

Bonjour Philippe,

This beautiful old church has had some important refits in its time! This church certainly doesn't look as if it would fit inside the walls of a castle!

Your photograph is very well exposed and, amazingly, you have been able to fit the whole building into the frame!
The side light illuminates the wall in an interesting way and seems to give a 3D effect.

Philippe, that very very old church has a massive look. It comprises a tower. The old stones have resisted well to the time. Fine colors, good sharpness, amiti�.

wow, this is a beautiful architecture here!
Nice angle, although I think the tower deserves a separate presentation because it seems so pretty back there.
People in the corner seem to be looking in another direction as if there was something even more interesting there.
Very encouraging to visit this town.
