Photographer's Note
2nd shot in series.
This old postbox caught my eye.
I was trying to capture the washed out feel of photographs taken just after the massacre. Straight over exposure didn't have the quality I was after so I added a black soft to work mainly on the lighter tones, that coupled with my trusty soft old 20mm used wide open worked fine.
In PS I used curves to push the highlights a bit more and cropped quite heavily.

Hi Richard! You're letting this series out slowly!
I like the washed-out effect - it gets the mood you want, and also the crisp post-box. I'm not entirely sure about the combination of the two styles: not that it isn't attractive, but I find it sapping the attention away from the image itself.

Hi Richard,
i love this kind of pics, full of risk and experimentation, joining photography and a little bit of graphic design.
In this one the result is brilliant. Brave, great job!! :) Congrats!!
Best regards.

Hi Richard!
It's great to see you posting photos again (hope it's not a one photo a year).
Your image is as always: perfectly composed, exposed and processed. I find your soft/overexpose experiments very interesting and adequate to this subject.
Extraordinary and impressive b/w picture!

Hi Richard,
this shot carries a heavy burden of grieves and the washed off effect works well in my opinion.. maybe it could do with a little more contrasts or sharpening ..
