ABOUT THE PHOTO
I had a pleasure to live in Munich for about 4 years. It was however in pre-digital times and my negatives got pretty much damaged. From time to time I have an opportunity to visit it again and I am always as excited to walk this beautiful old town as before. On one of the occasions last year I tried to take some more photos but the weather was rather bad with a heavy fog decreasing the clarity. I had just few minutes for one blue hour shot. I picked a spot along the train line to the airport. I decided to photograph the Isartor.

ABOUT THE PLACE
This photo presents Isartor. Munich has three old gates to the city, each one being in a different style. Sendlinger Tor, Karlstor and Isartor. Tor meaning gate in German. Isar is the river which passes through Munich not far behind the Isartor.

The POV and the balance in Composition is good. The general brown tone is appropriate since it gives an aura of 'history' to the photograph.
The two octagonal towers on either side of the main tower gives the photograph a natural balance. The long strip of mural on the wall over the arched gateways, gives the general architectural theme a variety and makes the photograph interesting.
The main tower at the centre is well lit and the the dark roof has sharp and beautiful borders.

Witaj Mariusz,
piekna kartka z Monachium. Pieknie wyszlo zdjecie o zmorcznej porze. Piekna kolorystyka, ostrosc, czystosc obrazy pozwalam na na zobaczenie szczegolow na malowanych na frocie tej fasady. Super kilmat tego miejsca. Podoba mi sie bardzo.

A good blue hour shot, with excellent perspectives and light display. But (and it could be my tired old eyes) do the blue tones look not as blue/cobalt as usual Or it is just the changing light? The low central pov holds the eye so well, architectural detail on the prominent building is sensational and the streak of lights from moving vehicles make the shot more exciting. Fine shot, TFS.

Hello Mariusz,
You captured the light and blueish evening colours very well. The fine buyildings has been given lovely tones. The passing headlights of cars have given the building an interesting foundation.

Hello Mariusz,

You made a very good decision to photograph this fine gate and there is little evidence of bad weather in this shot.

I'm not quite sure what your exposure was but I suspect it was of the order of 10 to 30 seconds judging by the light trails from the passing traffic. You must have used a tripod for this one.

The details and sharpness are, as always, exquisite and your exposure is perfect. You have shown all the details in this magnificent building perfectly and somehow you have managed to balance the artificial light very well with the natural blue light of the sky.

A very interesting note too.

you have managed very well the exposure for to reach a great result in this capture at the blue hour.
The architecture of this old gate of the city, with its golden lighting, is outlined in an elegant, attractive composition and with a nice symmetry.
The light of the vehicles that were passing through there creates a magnificent dynamic effect.

This is really, really nice. The light trails are a particular interest for me, they have always fascinated me, but of course, these are complimented amazingly by the beautiful gate. The light in the sky looks wonderful, and that looks like a brilliant moasic/painting on the front wall. Nice one!

A beautiful shot from Germany, a shot with a difference as those light trails make very interesting viewing, especially with the amazing backdropyou have. Good purple hour and excellent light control. So this is not a slide, but taken last year? In every respect, an impressive photo.

Cześć, jak to sie wcześnie robi ciemno w listopadzie, dopiero piata. Ciekawe kolory, nie jest to blue hour, raczej pink. Interestująca brama, ale nie zmienia mojej opinii.

Licze raczej dni niz godziny, juz niewiele pozostalo!

Wonderful image, that when blue hour, acquires a greater charm, the door is fully restored or rebuilt, but has beautiful architecture, this magnificent POV that makes it look great.

i had to laugh a little bit when you commented in the very first line that you lived in Munich for 4 years, because in your first line of your critique to my last photo you said i lived in Krakow for 5 years! lol
you get around don't you!
clear and sharp as always, very sharp and i really like the luminosity.
we can see that you took time and care into making it as symmetrical as possible.
the small pockets of window lights are great too.

bardzo ladna budowla w Monachium. Fajnie wypatrzony temat i zaprezentowany tutaj. Niezwykle te wieze okalajace nie mniej atrakcyjne bramy. Podobaja mi sie tez smugi swiatla przemykajacych aut.

This is your wonderful classic long exposure blue hour shot. I love the streaks of traffice light, like wind of lights. Love the purple tone and the golden illumination on the architecture.

Excellent details on the none moving objects. Beuatiful colors and good composition.
