Photographer's Note
Until WW II, Ahr valley railway line used to have two tracks, as it was considered important for the deployment of troops against France, our so-called arch-enemy.
Reduced to a single track line, half of the tunnels became obsolete and were used again as underpasses for the Ahr biking trail.
This here is 235 m long Saffenburg Tunnel from Mayschoss station towards Rech. It was flooded in July 2021.
The neighbouring second tunnel tube lost its tracks, and the bridge following its other mouth collapsed.
I had intended to finish my series about the indundations with a number 50, but learned this would not be adequate.

Salut Sven,
Parfois il est difficile de masquer l'ombre de sa silhouette lorsque le soleil est derri鑽e soit ... bien fait, ta silhouette sur le sol accentue l'effet de profondeur de l'image et de la vue de ce tunnel, a bon "selfie".

Hello Sven Erich,
A nice view of the dark tunnel, the contrast with the bright sunlight and the warm colours of the foreground is very good. Also the inclusion of your own shadow is really nice.
Lars
