Holocaust Memorial

This is an impression of the Holocaust Memorial (official name: Denkmal fr die ermordeten Juden Europas, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe). It covers an entire block in central Berlin, just south of the Brandenburg Gate. It consists of 2,711 stelae, concrete slabs, of varying heights, placed on a sloping field. It was inaugurated in May 2005, sixty years after the end of WW2 in Europe.

Potsdamer Platz and the large roof of the Sony Center (which I will show later as well) are seen in the background. I added a close-up photo of some of the stelae to the WS (https://i1.trekearth.com/photos/12257/1222ws._holocaust_memorial.jpg).
