D�sseldorf is the capital city of the German Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia and (together with Cologne and the Ruhr Area) the economic center of Western Germany. D�sseldorf is located on the River Rhine and it is one of the main centers of the densely populated Rhine-Ruhr area. In the 7th and 8th centuries, the odd farming or fishing settlement could be found at the point where the small river D�ssel flows into the Rhine. It was from such settlements that the city of D�sseldorf grew. The first written mention of the town of D�sseldorf dates back to 1135 (then called D�sseldorp). It was told that under Emperor Friedrich Barbarossa the small town of Kaiserswerth, lying to the North of D�sseldorf, became a well fortified outpost, where soldiers kept their watchful eyes over every movement on the Rhine. Kaiserswerth eventually became a suburb of D�sseldorf in 1929.

The Burgplatz which you can see in this photo is the ideal place if you want to relax, have a dark beer and look over the Rhine. The area round the castle tower received an award as one of the most beautiful squares Germany. Young and old meet on the adjacent flight of steps after work and at weekends. Starting from here you can stroll along the Rhine up to the trade fair or cycle to the medieval town Kaiserswerth.

The mighty castle of the Count of Berg and the later Dukes of J�lich - Kleve - Berg stood at this place. Nowadays, a former side tower of a later baroque palace is all that remains. The palace burned down in 1872, the ruins were completely demolished in 1888. The old castle tower houses the SchiffahrtMuseum (shipping museum), which shows 2000 years of navigation on the Rhine.

good quality of your shot in the late evening, good POV too with excellent colours of the city, warm light for the monuments and cold lights for the street along the water, very nice diagonal of the D�ssel, yes, the POV is good and the angle and the framing too, it's a very good looking composition, the crowd on the stairs, i imagine i'm here and relaxing and talking on these stairs... very good photo :-))

nefis bir "mavi saat" fotoğrafı olmuş bu deniz... "iyi saatte olsunlar" fotoğrafı bile olabilirmiş biraz daha uğraşsan (k� espri periyodumdayım, sorry)... light management konusunda ustalaştığının da resmidir aynı zamanda... insancıkların da katkısıyla "wonderbra" bir iş �ıkmış ortaya... tebrix and hugs and a lot more...

Cretense'in mavi saat fotograflari gibi olmus. Bu koyu mavi ve portakal tonlari sahane duruyor fotografta. Cok iyi bi is cikarmissin. Blue hour fotograflarini Istanbul'da da gormek isterim, daha nefis seyler cekersin diye dusunuyorum.

Beautiful night shot. I love so much this immaculate dark blue sky iabove the buildings where you cateched the artifical lights so well. The light reflections on the water in the foreground also bring another touch to this already very well balanaced composition. Great work.

that痴 what I would call a very well executed, typical tourist shot like millions of travellers use to make when they visit foreign countries. If we visualised the photographic quality of this type of photos like a pyramid, your shot of course would be located somewhere in its upper part close to the peak. :-))))
