Photographer's Note

The Rio泡ntirrio Bridge is one of the world's longest multi-span cable-stayed bridges and longest of the fully suspended type. It crosses the Gulf of Corinth near Patras, linking the town of Rio on the Peloponnese peninsula to Antirrio on mainland Greece by road. It opened on 12 August 2004.
The 2,380-metre-long (7,808 ft) bridge (approximately 1.8 miles) dramatically improves access to and from the Peloponnese, which could previously be reached only by ferry or via the isthmus of Corinth in the east. Its width is 28 m (92 ft)擁t has two vehicle lanes per direction, an emergency lane and a pedestrian walkway.

The bridge connects the city of Rio (in the Ahaia region) with Antirio (in the Etoloakarnania region)
This is a photo taken from the Etoloakarnania region, tomorrow there will be a photo on the other side.

Rzeczywiście miejsce jest bardzo podobne, może nawet to samo, ale Tobie znacznie lepiej sie udało. Moje jest marnej jakości. Byc może ja stałam jednak gdzieś dalej i wycięłam. Juz tam na miejscu nie byłam zadowolona. ładne te fioletowe kwiatki. W ogole super widok. U nas tez była zapowiedź budowy wielu most. Może bedzie taki most nad przekopem Mierzei?

The famous bridge which I saw from above during a flight to Verona and taken its picture from an altitude of 34,000ft (11.1km+/-) in 06/2011, Piotr.

It's a very elegant bridge and I like this composition with the old dirt road in the foreground. It's a great symbolic combination of old and modern ways of travelling.

A fantastic photo of this modern bridge. I really like how the sun illuminated the cables, they look beautiful in front of the layers of the distant mountains. The small purplish flowers make a good foreground as well.

This pic wasn't taken to show the most attractive beach in Greece :)
But the beautiful bridge is certainly a wonderful eye-catcher.
The different spans make for a splendid photo.
Great technical achievement to connect the Peloponese to the mainland in this place.

nice inclusion of these wild flowers in FG. you had the chance to take this perfect view of the bridge. I had few minutes in a not so good spot.

Hello Piotr,
I like this new style of suspension bridges. They remind me of harps. We can see the entire bridge with the dirt path leading the eyes to that gulf that it crosses.
