Photographer's Note

..Hania lighthouse, the jewel of the city, is one of the oldest light houses, not only in Greece and the Mediterranean, but also in the world...!!

The lighthouse (Faros GR: Φάρος) is a major attraction in the old port of Chania especially at night when it's lit up... The tower is 21m high and is built on a stone base, located at the end of the old harbour's pier opposite to the fortress of "Firkas".

Visitors are not allowed to enter the tower..

υπέροχη η ζεστή λάμψη του φάρου μέσα στο απόλυτο σκοτάδι. Η ευκρίνεια είναι εντυπωσιακή για νυχτερινή λήψη χωρίς τρίποδο. Αξιοποίησες την εικόνα θαυμάσια μέσα στο στενό και μακρύ κάδρο τονίζοντας και τη μαγική αντανάκλαση. Τόσο αυτή όσο και ο φάρος μοιάζουν να έχουν μια γυάλινη διαφάνεια. Συγχαρητήρια και ευχαριστώ!

Hello Yannis,
This well known lighthouse is indeed one of the prides of Chania, seen all over the harbour and the old part of the city. In this photo its plain but refined design has no competition from any other structure, just the eplendid reflections in the dark water. Very well done.

Hola Yiannis, me gusta esta interesante y bonita foto nocturna del faro iluminado y su bonito reflejo en el agua.
