Photographer's Note

The south-eastern end of the large bay of Alinda. Some of the landmarks of this part of the island are the old windmill standing on rocks in the sea, the old flourmill (the big yellow building in the distance), the lighthouse of Ayia Marina and the remains of "Bruzi" a fortification whose role was to inhibit pirates before they reached up to the Castle.

A great composition; the windmill is well placed bottom right and helps give the scene depth as well as providing a counterbalance to the yacht out to sea. The image benefits from a pleasant ambient light and very good colours and clarity.

The name of the bay is very well selected "Blue Bay".
A lot ingredients are present, the mill, the sea, lighthouse and village, real a wonderful and good compostion

oggi sia io che te abbiamo proposto un paesaggio marino: te nell'Isola di Leros ed io in Liguria.
Per� devo ammettere che l'azzurro del tuo mare � superiore al mio e che il paesaggio che lo contorna � pittoresco ed aspro per la presenza delle rocce.
Bella la composizione che include anche il mulino a vento e buona la nitidezza.

Le moulin � l'avant plan sur la droite est de toute beaut� et un premier point focal dans l'image. En plus, sa position nous laisse d馗ouvrir le paysage qui l'entoure. L'ensemble est net et tr鑚 lumineux.

The blue tone is awesome, favorable light condition on time taken.
The small (known) windmill is an eyes catching element, and there is fine view over the rocks at the edge of the small peninsula, above the houses on waterfront.

Hello Ourania,
If ever I set foot on Leros it will be like coming to Manhattan: I have seen everything before. Not in the movies, in the case of Leros, but on TE. I know that old flourmill very well by now, but somehow you always find another angle to make each photo look new and fresh. I can't recall seeing the windmill from this position, where it provides a very good balance to the sailing-boat that happened to be well placed. The reefs outside the windmill and the streams create very fine varieties of blue that make the large open space of water more interesting.

A fantastic strong blue colour of the sea! The hills far away seem to melt into the sky. A very attractive view! The white sail-boat and the windmill are nicely balancing each other and the red roof of the mill is a perfect accent against all the blue parts.

Hello Ourania,

A picture with warm and bright colors. I like the
open spaces the picture: it makes the picture
nice calmness and it creates a nice view. Point
of view and composition are great: the picture
has layers and the some kind of diagonal line
(tree with mill-pier other side-boat-hills on
the background) and that creates a nice depth.
The light management is also great.

Ουρανία μου καλημέρα, εχω πάνω απο μηνα να μπω ατο ΤΕ λόγω δουλειάς και υποχρεώσεων αλλά σήμερα μπήκα και να που βλέπω το ομορφο τοπίο σου και αγαλλιάζει η ψυχή μου...εχω ηδη αρχίσει να σκέφτομαι το ταξίδι μου στήν πατρίδα κι ευχομαι να αξιωθώ νάρθω πάλι φέτος...
