Photographer's Note

Yesterday that the weather was bad and the south-west wind made it very difficult for the ferry to berth at the port of Lakki, as usual, it arrived at Ayia Marina. The time of its arrival was unusual too, the itinerary from Pireus is scheduled to reach Leros at 4:30 a.m. The strong winds changed everything, but the ferry continued its voyage to the southern Aegean (Kos and Rhodes.) It would catch up with its schedule on its way back to Pireaus.

In the WORKSHOP another picture which shows the scale between the ferry and the harbour of Ayia Marina more clearly.

Ourania Hello, very good view of this beautiful composition with the ferry at the port, very well captured in this good and beautiful photography. An interesting image with good sharpness, depth, light, color and quality. Very good and nice work perfectly realized, my congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this interesting work. Hello Ourania,
This looks like a very sheltered bay, as we cannot see any signs of the difficult sea. The vertical shape was well chosen and gives us a good view of the nearest rocks and trees, as well as the frequently featured windmill. I like the dark tones, especially those in the lower parts where they make the rocks and trees and shallow water look more threatening than the open sea. The size of the ferry seems totally out of proportions for this port, which is more obvious from the WS. As a photo this one however is the best.

A stunning view of this impressive ferry (even it is not so huge ) . MAy be that the presence of the little mill gives this feeling . BAd weather , but a bright interval to capture the scene . Very well composed ;

Kalispera Ourania,
The big Blue-Star ferry "fill" almost all the available entry to the bay and superbly scaled by the famous old windmill.
Both photos are most intriguing, well taken from shore, and for the first time, to my humble opinion and memory - we see the wooden ladder leading down from the promenade to the rocks at sea on the foreground. Well done.
By the way, the bad weather "arrived" here in Israel this morning...

Interesting to compare this post with the workshop. A portrait versus a landscape.
The landscape should be obvious for the scene, but I do prefer you choice here for the portrait format.
Despite the poor weather or maybe even thanks to the bad weather there is an attractive light in the photo.

The stormy weather creates a particular mood for for this well composed image. Fine choice of the vertical format and excellent light management. The red funnel and the red roof of the windmill provide some nice splashes of colour and make a pair of effective focal points.

I've travelled several sectors of the Aegean on blue star ferries. I almost got on the wrong one to Crete when I was in Santorini! Good sharpness and the dull day has given a nice diffused light. Tfs!

Fine capture of this massive and handsome vessel moored in this ideal setting. I think you are fortunate that the old windmill nearby is a bonus giving the image some scale, but impressive how they both stand out in such a weather condition lifing this shot. Excellent capture, Congrats
