Kimissi on Lipsos, a photo from Dodekanisos, South Aegean

Photographer's Note

This lovely beach is on the little island of Lipsos (or Lipsi) very close to Leros, to the north. This secluded area was a hermitage and a hideout several centuries ago.
The shore is called Assumption (Kimissi)and this must be the 16th century chapel dedicated to the Assumption of Virgin Mary.

Kalimera Ourania,
Deep blue and green tones water were most attractive when first saw the picture, than red the note and looked at the upper part of the image.
A place to stay away from town's tumult, a beach offers calm and charming scenery.
The mountain slope "falling" to sea, and the trail leading the view to waht looks as a two houses mansion.
Impressive tones in contrast, well done.

Notwithstanding a 50/50 image get we a very nice picture about these area.
The sea and the rocks care for a wonderful summery picture.
I like the choice of your angle this create depth and perspective.

Hello Ourania,
Maybe the beach was packed with tourists and covered with sunchairs and umbrellas further to the left, but hopefully it was as secluded as you describe it. It is a beautiful place and at least from here the beach looks comfortably deserted. I can only see one person, maybe waiting for your boat. On several Greek isands I have seen similar very small and very pretty chapels in the strangest places, far from the nearest settlements. I like the naturally saturated tones of blue and green.

This looks like a very secret and very special place, it feels like a privilege to be looking at this place, which I would guess not many get to see, so thanks for sharing it. The azure water is a perfect lead in to this sanctuary hiding among the natural elements here. The path leading up into the mountain also gives fantastic depth to the scene. Magical place.

Another lovely composition with beautiful rendering of the vivid colours. The deep blue of the water is particularly eye catching and gives great atmosphere to this picture as well as beautiful contrast with the equally attractive background displayed with fine clarity and details.
