Photographer's Note
Hi TE friends. This is #7 post of series from "Pindos mountain range". Here we can see the sources of Acheloos river, at Pindos mountain range.
Acheloos (Greek: Αχελώος), also Achelous, is a river in western Greece. It forms the boundary between Acarnania and Aetolia since anciet times. It empties into Ionian Sea. In ancient times its spirit was venerated as the river god Achelous.
The river today begins in the prefecture of Trikala in Pindos mountain range on Lakmos mountain at the elevation of about 2,000 m and has its first tributary, the Aspropotamos, meaning the white river. It is also one of the longest rivers in Greece.
