Photographer's Note

A photo behind the doors of one of the innumerable luxurious hotels of Santorini.

What we don't guess on this photograph, it's the splendid panorama on Caldeira in the back of the waiter.

Why " nescaf� frapp�" as title ? Because it's quite simply one of drinks most consumed in Greece and I drunk many... ;)

Mmmm...one frapp� coming up! Great shot and - what's more - here's an original shot & composition from this well-known island. Great use of the lines of the architecture. The waiter coming up is the finishing touch in the ensemble here.

I haven't been in Greece for a very, very long time, but I have my frapp� at the local Greek caf� here in my hometown.

I prefer the Italian espresso coffee, your photo, however, very much! Very nice graphics, rigid orthogonal lines at the top, with soft, sinuous lines at the bottom! Excellent choice of black and white! Congratulations!

tu as toute mon admiration! Ce d馗lenchement est absolument extraordinaire, une vraie photo d'art. La g駮m騁rie des volumes est fantastique, soigneusement 騁udi馥 et de grand impact graphique. La pr駸ence de l'homme avec le plateau rompt la rigidit� de la construction, il donne mouvement � la sc鈩e et il arrache un sourire. Bravissima, une photo de grande classe. Seulement une petite annotation: j'aurais t稍h� de souligner de plus le contraste entre lumi鑽e et ombre, mais c'est un point de vue personnel, naturellement!

Tu as d馗lench� juste au bon moment, celui o� ce gar輟n de (nes)caf� frapp�, dans sa tenue noire qui tranche parfaitement avec le gris de l'architecture, arrive au point fort inf駻ieur de l'image et fait contrepoint avec celui sup駻ieur occup� par un motif floral

Une vraie recherche dans le cadrage ! J'aime beaucoup la succession de lignes diagonales, verticales, horizontales ou ondul馥s. Le serveur attire l'oeil et remplit bien la composition. Le choix du noir et blanc renforce encore le graphisme de la sc鈩e. Du joli travail, bravo m'dame !

l'immagine � ben composta e la presenza umana � ben inserita nella scena, dando un tocco di vita.
Non sono sicuro per� che la scelta del bianco e nero, sia la scelta migliore.
Questi edifici bianchi spiccano molto con il blu del cielo.
Forse il cielo quel giorno non era blu?

Une photo au minimalisme triomphal sous une douce lumi鑽e. Le timing est parfait, avec le personnage bien situ� dans le d馗or qu'on dirait presque factice. J'imagine que c'est une maison en drag馥!!!
J'aime beaucoup le format vertical que tu as choisi; qui met bien en valeur les lignes.Le rendu de la texture des murs est superbe aussi, et l'harmonie totale avec le fond.
C'est d'une grande classe!

questo capolavoro fotografico � l'ennesima dimostrazione delle tue doti compositive e artistiche. Quando io vedo composizioni come questa, non penso pi� di essere davanti ad una fotografia, ma davanti ad una opera d'arte, come un dipinto o una pittura. La macchina fotografica � stata solamente lo strumento, come un pennello o uno scalpello, per creare e trasmettere il tuo messaggio artistico al mondo. E' incredibile come persone, come te, che fotografano per passione o passatempo, possano creare simili lavori. I miei pi� sinceri complimenti!

This shot really brings out the graphic nature of the building and I feel this image suites black and white better than colour. A fine, beautifully balanced image and a very helpful description. A good strong image and high impact with a solitary human figure walking up with those repeating lines leading into the image, simple but very effective. The mono has worked very well and you have great tones and contrast through out this photo, and the man's presence makes the difference. Really great image, well timely shot. Congrats.

Tr駸 reussite cette photo: point de vue et composition au top.
Pour paufiner, je te proposerai de pousser legerement le contraste mais en masquant localement le serveur pour ne pas perdre de detail dans les tons noirs. Allez, hop, je m y mets pour un petit WS.

J'ai d馗ouvert le caf� glac� au Japon il y a vingt ans, bien avant qu'il soit introduit partout en Am駻ique. Celui de la Gr鐵e est particulier et fait aussi parti des traditions. Ton introduction me donne vraiment le go皦 d'en pr駱arer un, m麥e si c'est l'hiver ici...

Tu as concoct� une superbe photo, tr鑚 artistique et styl馥. La succession des formes g駮m騁riques fonctionne � merveille. Le jeu des ombres et lumi鑽es est 馮alement int駻essant, soulignant les volumes subtilement.

Tant qu'au serveur, c'est la mousse sur le caf�, le trouble-f黎e qui apporte un aspect humain � cette composition toute graphique, parfaitement plac�, sa chemise noire assurant le contraste id饌l.

Es-tu bien certaine que ce n'騁ait pas toi qui commandait un caf� � chaques dix minutes, question de parfaire ton image?... :-p))

Une r騏ssite sans 駲uivoque.

Multidimensional geometry - absolutely beautiful! I can hear your braincells at work, because nothing is a coincidence in this composition. Even that object containing flowers(?) perfectly balances person diagonally. It's also a fresh approach to Santorini - one usually sees pictures ephasising traditional aspects of it, this picture looks modern! The light was with you as well, creating dimensions of various shades of grey(originally white, I suppose). Great.I'm envious!
