Photographer's Note
TE friends that know my gallery will recognise this view as it is one of my most popular images called "parallel lines"; which is a view across the caldera in Thira on the island of Santorini, Greece. This shot was taken a couple of hours before the latter image and was at a time when the steps and surrounding area were being cleaned, hence the two large yellow dusters. Proof, I suppose, of how lovingly cared for the properties on this picturesque island are!

Hello Brian,
A very interesting image of two halves, but where the bottom half seems to lead naturally toward the top half. I like the point of view very much and the low light. The pot offers a good splash of contrasting colour. All the best for the weekend.

Hello Brian,
Those yellow dusters just add that extra little colour and unusualness to this spectaular image. I like the way that they break up the clean, orderly appearance of this building. The quality is amazing and those steps really do draw the eye into the picture.
Fabulous!
Kind Regards, Ann

Hello Brian,
The sharpness of the lines and the shapes, in the f/g, certainly gives the impression of a pristine place. I love how your pov makes such good use of the stairs, leading down from the habitation to the very opposite and contrasting b/g.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Brian,
Great composition with a strong visual impact and a high image quality. Everything seems perfect about this picture with its lovely light, the beautiful saturated colours and the elegant perspective of the staircase gently leading the eye down to the water beyond. The cruise ships slowly gliding up and down the placid waters are a bonus feature and an invitation to discover the other Cyclades islands. Congratulations !
Kind regards,
Christian

Hello Brian - Isn't is amazing what a small splash of yellow makes to the shot? Comparing the two versions is a fascinating exercise. I can understand why you cloned out the dusters, after all they are not the kind of thing one generally wants in a shot. They do add a great contrast though ;) As always Brian tip-top management and a wonderful scene. Have a great w/e Rosemary

Hi again,
beautiful these parallel lines and the immaculate cleanness is just amazing. The yellow elements look very eye catching although they are only
dusters. fantastic view of the caldera.
Warm regrads

Hello Brian
A perfect exposure on the white highlights with excellent sharpness & color saturation, & what a view! Hope to see this with my own eyes next summer. Well composed using the rule of thirds. The sea horizon is perfectly level too! Tfs!

Dear Brian
A magazine-quality photo with those marvellous blue and yellow tones contrasting so well. The black and white steps provide a marvellous graphism and you have achieved a simply spectacular depth of field to the horizon, including those wonderful islands. Breath-taking.
Cheers and happy Saturday

Hi Brian,
your gallery allows us to enjoy fantastic photos of the Greek islands, as this one.
It is a very deep image, from a high really effective POV in order to reach a precious panorama of this idyllic place.
I like the strong contrast of the white architecture of the island with the intense blue of the sea, and the good graphical effect created by the geometry of the stairs, the walls and the domes.
The cruise ships anchored in the caldera add an effective reference to the composition.
A perfect management of light and colors.
A beautiful work.
Best regards,
Josep

Hi Brian,
the stairs seem familiar indeed but the place is so amazing that I could spend there whole day trying various compositions. Everything very well thought through, stairs but also other decorative elements make a wonderful foreground and are beautiful topped up with the spectacular panorama.
I admire your collection from Greece, it makes me wanna go there again.

Ciao Brian,
Complimenti
Ciao e buona domenica
Romano
