A night shot of Acropolis and a text from wiki about Acropolis!
Wiki:
An acropolis is a settlement, especially a citadel, built upon an area of elevated ground庸requently a hill with precipitous sides, chosen for purposes of defense. In many parts of the world, acropoleis became the nuclei of large cities of classical antiquity, such as ancient Rome, which in more recent times grew up on the surrounding lower ground, such as modern Rome. The word acropolis literally in Greek means "city on the extremity" and though associated primarily with the Greek cities Athens, Argos, Thebes, and Corinth (with its Acrocorinth), may be applied generically to all such citadels, including Rome, Jerusalem, Celtic Bratislava, many in Asia Minor, or even Castle Rock in Edinburgh. An example in Ireland is the Rock of Cashel. Acropolis is also the term used by archaeologists and historians to the urban Castro culture settlements located in Northwestern Iberian hilltops.
The most famous example is the Acropolis of Athens, which, by reason of its historical associations and the several famous buildings erected upon it, is known without qualification as the Acropolis. Although originating in the mainland of Greece, use of the acropolis model quickly spread to Greek colonies such as the Dorian Lato on Crete during the Archaic Period.Because of its classical Hellenistic style, the ruins of Mission San Juan Capistrano's Great Stone Church in California, United States has been called the "American Acropolis"Other parts of the world developed other names for the high citadel or alc痙ar, which often reinforced a naturally strong site. In Central Italy, many small rural communes still cluster at the base of a fortified habitation known as La Rocca of the commune.

Kalispera Chris,
Inspite of the large dark sky on most of pic. space - the Acropolis illuminations are super-magnificent, with perfect sharpness and shutter set.
I almost could have cpounted every brick there...
Impressive. Well done.

Great use of the black negative space above the nicely lit Acropolis here, Chris. I know the suggestion is always to go with a blue hour shot, but I love shooting well lit buildings against a pitch black sky, makes for a really nice dramatic effect, especially when you give over so much of the frame to the negative space as you've done.

I made it to Athens and up to the Parthenon and Acropolis recently. A superb nocturnal shot of these eternal monuments with good sharpness and graphism. I might have tried a different shade than black for the border so they don't bleed together. The diagonal slope of the plateau adds interest and dynamism. Tfs!

Geia sou Chris
Looks as if somebody moved the Acropolis on a distant planet without atmosphere, given the jet-black backdrop in "daylight"!!
I presume you shifted to 'manual exposure' for such an outstanding night shot.
Se xereto.
