Here is a night shot of the entrance of the National Archaeological Museum in Athens. It houses some of the most important artifacts from a variety of archaeological locations around Greece from prehistory to late antiquity. It is considered one of the great museums in the world and contains the richest collection of artifacts from Greek antiquity worldwide (Wikipedia).

Witaj Gosia,
fascinating the light and the colour management of the National Archaeological Museum in Athens with the people to sittimg on its stairs to add life in the scene.Usally i have see it dacades of times but only during the days and i can say never at night.Excellent presentation.

nice colored contrast, but the adjonction of seated people makes this image different from a classical architecture post.

Hi Gosia. Classical it may be but it is definitely dramatic the way the light casts its magic glow and not only enhances the golden colours but gives the columns a sense of lightness as if it is not stone that we are looking at. Hello Gosia,
Athens may not be one of my favourite cities, but this museum alone would make a visit worthwhile. And this photo is just marvellous with its contrasts of colours and light. I love the inclusion of some people sitting on the stairs and how they create a dynamism by breaking the otherwise perfect symmetry. You must have very steady hands to attempt a photo like this without a tripod, and achieveing such a perfect result.

Great framing in this photo! I really like how the outer edges are dark, and then the interior section comes to life with light and color. It's nice to see some people relaxing on the steps, too. For a handheld shot the sharpness is great. The thumbnail caught my eye right away. :-)

Colour and composition. Lovely contrast of blue and orange, classic opposites on the colour wheel. Frame within a frame for the lit interior, using those magisterial ionic columns to break it up. And no tripod, with a 1/15 sec exposure!

Bardzo ladne, swietnie skomponowane zdjecie. Najbardziej podoba mi sie kontrast pomiedzy cieplymi kolorami w miejscach oswietlonych i niebieskim w cieniu. To jak symboliczne przedstawienie dnia i nocy. Ludzie daja poczucie skali i wprowadzaja bardzo potrzebny element kompozycyjny.

Once upon a time the Greek philosophers of th antiquity took place on the similar stairs of the temple on Acropolis and teached the people.

This is a really beautiful shot! I like the effect of the lights on inside. The colours there and the lines of the architetcure are really great. But you also got much detail on the foreground and the people add a lot to the shot.

The building is a known landmark, beautiful in its "absolute ultimate classicism", but I had never seen it like this. You produced a very attractive image, graphic, light and colour wise, and the presence of the people creates a nice relaxed human mood. I like it very much.

Hello Gosia - The contrasting blue and yellows gives this image huge appeal and helps to define the inner and outer spaces really well. I like the few figures that break up the symmetry; they are very well positioned.
