Photographer's Note
The National Theater of Rhodes Greece, Dodecanese: The National Theatre of Rhodes is an impressive building ideally located in the Town Hall Square. It is one of the finest specimens of the International and the Fascistic style of architecture. The innovative manner in which glass bricks have been used in this magnificent edifice is truly outstanding.
The white stripe on the building, which is now masonry, was the glass-brick constructions mentioned in the demolition.
Comment:
I am an architect, not a politician.
I don稚 care what system built a building, I知 looking for values.
Of special importance is the performance hall, which is rather high and quite long. The Performance Hall is recognizable by its spacious balcony, theater boxes, and a well-stocked bar. The National Theatre of Rhodes was in 1937 by an anonymous architect.
Initially, the edifice was referred to as the Teatro Puccini. It used to be one of the most modern theatres of its era, so much so that even operas were performed. Presently the theater serves a dual purpose, theatrical performances and as a cinema.
We are approx. We have been visiting Rhodes every year for 20 years. We have never been able to see this building interiors before.
They started renovating sometime, but don稚 know when it will be completed.

Hi Csaba,a great example of the typical architecture of Mussolini's time, I had understood this even before reading the notes. The typical facade with columns and that somewhat circular style reminiscent of the bauhaus at the back, many colonies where they took children to the sea were built in this way. Perfect capture of this building that I remember well. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Csaba,
Superb warm cold colour contrasts between the blue sky and the reddish brown ochre coloured fa軋de of the National Theatre. Good sharpness and framing too. Tfs!
