Love in Pythagorion, a photo from Samos, North Aegean

Photographer's Note

Following the stairs uphill behind the waterfront of Pythagorion to the old ruined castle will lead you through this charming street. It's not as eyecatching as some of the scenes I saw in Mykonos streets, but it was my first introduction to this style of unique Greek street art. Samos Island is just off the coast from Kusadasi in south western Turkey.

Hello Chris,
I don't remember seeing this kind of street art anywhere in Greece. That's a pity, because paintings like this look great in photos. This would also be a very inviting way of entering the restaurant I think I see in the background. You had a good light in the right area and handled it well.

Hi Chris,in fact the paintings are a bit elementary and kitsch but in any case it is always something different to photograph, even the lane to the castle is very beautiful and you can feel the whole atmosphere of the Greek islands, very perfect quality! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Beautiful alley with white painted houses whereby the street surface is actually the eye-catcher.
They look like children's paintings, but they are carefully executed.
Probably a nice village to wander around.

This is amazing street art, such that I have not seen before. Lovely as it is, it does seem a pity to walk on it, eventually leading to its ruination. I see the meandros pattern down each side, confirming the 'Greekness' of the painting!
No wonder you wanted to photograph this, it is colourful, arty, mysterious and great fun!
You have captured it with excellent clarity and colour saturation.

Hi Chris,
Although the paintings are fairly simple, bright colours make me smile. And that blue is of course quite typical for Greece. Details of stair railings caught my attention too. And the background is very nice.

Very colorful and so photogenic pavement here. On sides we see a clear Greek motif. This is yet another Greek destinations which I must visit someday.
