Photographer's Note

Hi friends.
This is my last post from the last series, about history of West Macedonia.
For my new visitors, I have to write that they can read more information on my posts of this series from the last days.
Here on this photo as you can see is the landscape around the rich archeological area.
Some people say that under these fields are many more ancient speciments they can show that the life there is since Paleolithic time, until the Helenistic time, with their civilization and culture.
The finds until now shows that, the inhabitans and culture had a close assosiation with the Myceneans, and the other inhabitans and culture of south Greece.

This could do with a crop to remove that dark triangle in the bottom corner and some of the foreground, but apart from that I like this one.
The colours and shapes of this patchwork landscape are appealing, and I like the darkness of the sky overhead; very atmospheric.

finish with a dramatic sky over green and brown fields. Thanks for this interesting series about history of West Macedonia. Based on the last things discovered by archaeology I am astonished how far trade and change was done, they had a lot more than local or regional exchange, knowledge and goods were shared over the accessible parts of their world.

Hi Evan,

Wonderful storm .. and great depth and border provided by the mountains .. Somehow the soft earth tones of the ground seem in conflict (in a good way) with the sky .. it makes it seem more gentle. ... of course I love the vast empty composition .. my kind of nature.

Great series.

Have you ever read Michael Wood's "In Search of the Trojan War" .. really formative thing for me many moons ago.

Great atmosphere, where the dramatic clouds are hovering over the winter landscape!
I like the cololurs and the winding road is an eye-catching element...
Earthly colours and good lines, pleasant composition with inclusion of the distant houses!

Δεν πειράζει, έχουμε εσένα. Εκπληκτικά γήινα χρώματα και ανοικτό πεδίο. Όμορφα αγκαλιάζουν τα σύννεφα τα βουνά στο βάθος.
