Porto Katsiki bay 11:00 a.m., a photo from Lefkada, Ionian Islands

Photographer's Note

2 hours after the photo I posted yesterday. This beach is not easy to access by car, so most of the tourists come with ships from Nidri or Agios Nikolaos. Still this wonderful beach is not so crowded as others and its a pleasure to be there.
I took this photo from the cliffs, a stair is leading up there.

Wow, the cliffs seem very close to the people on the beach. Nice shot and good angle from a high point to capture this scene. The colour of the water is very attractive and nicely saturated. The swimmers and sunbathers look more like insects from this point of view. Thanks Christian :-)

I love the perspective you took here. Before reading your note I though it's a nice portrait of todays mass tourism... now I wonder how beaches that are crowded look like :-)

I was there seventeen years ago on that dusty road but still remember the untamed beauty of this beach... but that time it was all the day like in your photo at 9:00am

Wenn der Strand f�r meinen Geschmack auch eindeutig zu voll ist, so ist dies doch ein sches, farbenfrohes Foto, das sher gelungen einen typischen Moment mediterranen Strandlebens abbildet. Die Wasserfarbe ist - lefkastypisch eben -einfach der Hammer. Trotz der offenkundigen nat�rlichen Vorteile "meiner" Insel bin ich den letzten Jahren nicht mehr hingefarhen, weil man mir berichtete, dass es im Sommer ziemlich �berlaufen ist.

Hi Christian. This really makes me want to pack my things and go on holiday... The water almost looks like it's a swimming pool; so clear! I think you have a good balance here between beach and sea; the parasols give variation. Nice shot! And now I wake up and I'm back in the office pfff.

Hi Christian! Greece is wonderful, and Lefkada - one of the best places to take pictures - and this one if great indeed, I like this POV, and it's quite refreshing to see the perspective you have chosen! Great colours as well - hard to beleive that summer is not far away...!
