Koroni is located 52km southwest of kalamata on the west side of the Messenian Gulf.
It is one of the most touristic places in Messinia region and particularly noted for its castle.
Koroni population estimated to 2.000 people while the Koroni municipality has not more than 5.000

About the shot:

This one was taken from the harbor, which is the most touristic part of the city.
The light that turns the boat to red, comes from one of the many spot lamps across the pier.
Blue hour selected, (even I've wasted some minutes), a long exposure was needed in order to capture those reflections. The exposure time was 8 seconds, I didn't need more than that, I was afraid that i could burn more the reflections, so I condemned the f which was set to 4.5
ISO set to 100 to avoid the noise, maybe I should use ISO 400 and f/8, but the beauty of the scene was too good forcing me to use ISO 100 for a clear and smooth result.
A tripod was definatly used as long exposures need stable hands, but thats not enough. even the heart beat or breathing, can make you shake the camera, without notice. Thats why tripods are used in such situations.

Tip: Be calm when you have to shot without a tripod in a slow speed, use 1/60 (18-50mm) hold your breath relax, and take the shot, let the scene come to you, feel it. If you succeed, try a lower speed 1/40 or 1/30 (at 18mm). Be generous and take more than one shots. All these are depending on the focal range, Eg. You can't capture a non-shakable result at 300mm 1/60 not even during the day!
It is like a big fishing cane, the edge is moving, even if your hand isn't shaking (or you think it isn't shaking), in comparison with a small cane which is more stable. Same goes with camera focal ranges.

Lens with Stabilizer do a good job but not always.
A stabilized lens can give you the same result at 1/10, than 1/60. Light is the most significant factor for setting the correct shutter speed.
